The agriturismo
At an altitude of 600 m, in an ancient chestnut wood on the north side of the Massiccio del Grappa, submerged in greenery with plenty of room to relax: a lawn, several small houses in the woods and an educational trail.
The farm is “biodiverse”: it doesn’t use chemicals, and the kitchen uses raw materials produced by the farm itself or by other organic farms.
The cuisine is healty and seasonal: the bread is homemade using sourdough and baked in the wood-burning oven; the polenta is made from local “sponcio” corn, the fagioli beans, a signature dish, are Lamon and Bonel; the farm's honey is used in its desserts, and its walnuts in its starters and cakes.
The accommodation
The guest rooms, of which one is larger for groups, are equipped with a mezzanine level for children and have private bathrooms.
The farm also has a campsite, or guests can stay in the farmhouse: recently built, with a “fojarol" beech twig roof, the building is very typical of the region.
As well as half-board with dinner, guests may also order lunch.
Activities and surrounding
Highly recommended are the woodland excursions to the creek at the bottom of the valley, over the Massiccio del Grappa mountains or around the nearby Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park. A guide is available on request.
The agriturismo’s team offer a range of themed activities: bread making courses, recognising and cooking with wild plants; the culture of tradition; environmental issues.
The agriturismo is a regionally registered educational farm and collaborates with schools to offer courses for children. 16 June to 28 July are known as the green weeks (settimane verdi): children have the chance to get up close to nature and the animals.
The farm is less than 30 minutes from Belluno, Feltre with its ice rink, or Cima Grappa with its World War I history.
