The agriturismo
The farmhouse takes its name from the surrounding valley and the presence of acanthus leaves, from which the owners drew inspiration.
The Mediterranean-style farmhouse dates back to the late 19th century, but the presence of necropolis would suggest an ancient settlement; renovated in 2008, it has kept its original appearance in both its simple, linear style and its materials.
The accommodation
The apartments, sleeping between 2 and 6 with fully equipped kitchenette, have a hall-sitting room and an upstairs bedroom with wooden beamed ceiling. Each unit has heating, air-conditioning, bathroom with shower, and bed and bathroom linens.
Breakfast at the moment comes with a breakfast basket. The outdoor area, next to each apartment, is equipped with a pergola, tables and chairs, and is perfect for socialising and relaxing with a glass of wine and tastes of local produce.
Breakfast is served in the communal room with fireplace; outside is a spacious garden, a playground for children, a large swimming pool with sundeck for relaxation, charcoal barbecue and a laundry room.
Activities and surrounding
The surroundings, rich in Mediterranean vegetation, is ideal for pleasant walks to discover the most striking parts of the area. The farmhouse is set in the peaceful countryside, but is just 5 mins from a bar-trattoria, a restaurant and a supermarket, and 10 mins from the town of Modica and from the sea.
The main natural and cultural attractions of southeast Sicily are also within easy reach.
