Agriturismo Podere Casciano

In the heart of Alta Valdera, 10 minutes from the Terme di Casciana and 30 minutes from Volterra, the agriturismo offers a peaceful holiday.

It has 5 apartments obtained from the careful renovation of a stone farmhouse, finely furnished and equipped with all comforts. New playground for children with professional cableway 40 meters long.

The entire farmhouse is the result of a careful renovation that lasted two years, with the utmost respect for nature and life in the name of calm and tranquility.

The five apartments, 3 two-roomed apartments of 55 square meters and 2 three-roomed apartments, one of 80 square meters and the other of 65 square meters, reflect the canons of the Tuscan tradition with mizzen, beams and chestnut beams; are equipped with all comforts (independent entrance, fully equipped kitchen, underfloor heating, satellite TV, solar thermal system, shared laundry room); have private bathroom, double bedroom (some with a single bed), living room kitchen with luxury sofa bed.

The ground floor apartments each have their own private equipped space (gazebo or loggia), the one on the first floor has a large panoramic terrace. In the large garden there is a barbecue corner with wood-burning oven.


Great importance has been given to the use of alternative sources for energy saving, making the farm autonomous thanks to a solar thermal and photovoltaic system.

Respect for interpersonal distance and other measures and instructions given by the authorities is facilitated by information signs and/or space delimitation.

In this period of reorganization where social distancing is a must, we realize that we have a strong point: our very large outdoor spaces, the equipment for each apartment of private terrace/gazebo in the garden and stations for each apartment on the pool solarium.

- We provide guests with one or more stations with disinfectant gel for the hands in the common areas.


- The accommodation, with its keys, are sanitized, as well as cleaned, before welcoming a new guest, including the equipment provided for each accommodation such as sun beds, umbrellas, chairs and sofas.

- All dishes, cutlery and glasses are washed and disinfected at each change of apartment, including those not used, if there is the possibility that they have been touched by guests or staff

The farmhouse has a swimming pool of harmoniously irregular shape (120 square meters), half surrounded by a large equipped stone solarium and the other half by a waterfall overflow: Given the emergency Covid we have modified our water treatment system of the pool, inserting an automatic system of sodium hypochlorite (the classic AMUCHINA).

This is added to the UV lamp that eliminates all bacterial loads and viruses without adding anything to the water.

In addition, water filtration is ensured by a large diatom filter that filters 7/8 times more than the traditional sand filter.

ANTI COVID PROTOCOL

Each apartment has its own private station assigned and adequately spaced as per current regulations (Ordinance n.65 of 10/06/2020 of the Region of Tuscany).

Parents are recommended to take care to supervise the children for the respect of the spacing and the hygienic-behavioural norms compatible with their degree of autonomy and their age.

We remind you the usual rules of hygienic safety in swimming pool water: before entering the pool water provide an accurate soapy shower on the whole body.

Thanks to the illumination of the whole park you can spend wonderful evenings.

At guests' disposal also Ping Pong, football ballilla, private tennis court, basketball court and synthetic grass bowls court. For the little ones, the playground is also equipped with a 40m long cableway.

For these common areas, there are stations with disinfectant detergents for sanitization after each use.

A stone's throw from the farm is one of the most particular and evocative theatres in Italy: the Teatro del Silenzio by Andrea Bocelli; a place that for 364 days a year remains intact in its perfect harmony and for only one day a year is animated by a different life, by the human naturalness made up of characters of beautiful singing and dancing.

In October and November you can live the tradition with the manual harvesting of olives and the subsequent pressing at the village mill.

Those who love thermal baths can spend pleasant moments in the water at 37° and have beauty treatments at the Terme di Casciana (structure in agreement with the agriturismo).

In addition, you can start from the farm to make hiking trails properly marked, thus immersing yourself in nature.

Easily reachable are also the sea and the cities of art such as Volterra, San Gimignano, Pisa, Florence and Siena.
