The agriturismo
The IttiturismoRistorante Mella is located 2 km from the historical centre of Bellagio, in the characteristic hamlet of San Giovanni: an oasis of tranquillity with small alleys and a charming little port.
From the main square you can enjoy a magnificent view of the opposite shore of the lake (Tremezzo) and magnificent villas such as Villa Carlotta, Villa Balbianello and Villa Melzi d'Eril.
The family tradition continues today with Alessandro, who is responsible for daily fishing fish, to follow the processing stages until the presentation on the table, edited by his wife Rosy.
The accommodation
It was 1958 when Rino, a professional fisherman and his wife Graziella decided to take over the place. The Sala family started a business, which happily combined professional fishing with catering. Since then the "Mella" is the silent witness of more than half a century of history. In the restaurant guests will have the opportunity to taste the typical cuisine based mainly on lake fish, but will also find a good selection of dishes for those who do not like fish.
The environment is familiar, and in the kitchen there is a good selection of other typical products that are found by local farms: cheese, oil, honey, jams, flour, cold cuts.
The "Mella" has always maintained its homemade typicality. It has also tried to diversify the proposal of freshwater fish dishes, refining the cuisine of Lake Como without upsetting some traditional recipes.
The menu is completed with homemade desserts and a good wine list also from the lake.
Available for guests tasting menus that vary over the seasons, à la carte menus, menus for ceremonies and anniversaries.

Activities and surrounding
Bellagio, the "pearl of Lake Como" is considered the most famous and elegant town on the lake, known for the beauty of its landscapes and the continuous renewal of colors and atmospheres during the different seasons. It is located on the extreme tip of the promontory that divides the lake into two branches and is the ideal destination to admire the most beautiful views of the lake, visit the aristocratic villas and the beautiful gardens.
The Ittiturismo Mella is located in the hamlet of San Giovanni about 1 km from the historical centre of Bellagio.
This small fishing village, with its characteristic cobbled lanes, is very appreciated for its tranquility even in the period of greatest tourist influx.
In the hamlet there is a suggestive harbour where you can see the fishing boats, a pier for the mooring of the motorboats and the boats of the Navigazione del Lago di Como, an important floricultural activity, the church of San Giovanni Battista dating back to the XVII century that overlooks the lake, the Museum of the instruments of navigation, the seat of the Canottieri and the most beautiful free beaches.
The old village, where ancient and suggestive houses follow one another, is crossed by mysterious alleys and characteristic cobbled staircases overlooked by colourful shops with excellent quality products.
Lovers of walks can also visit other hamlets of Bellagio, some hidden among the trees, others overlooking the lake and admire unique views.
San Giovanni is an excellent starting point for panoramic walks, a quiet place to relax on the beach and to practice various sports.

As well as we cook for the guests, we welcome the guests, we are responsible for communication.
It was a desire to to keep the family business alive which led me to run an agriturismo.
