Cortona (Arezzo)
The agriturismo is nestled in the hills, just 500 meters from the historic center of Cortona which is just a 10-minute walk away.
The property is surrounded by 5 hectars of olive groves and orchards.
The agriturismo is composed of a manor house and a farmhouse and can be rented enbloc or partially. The stone facility still presents the architectural look of the 16th century and was renovated in 2007. The rooms are decorated with family furniture from the 19th century. In the 18th century, the villa was used as postal station by the name of "Locanda del girifalco".
Both the manor and the farm house large French doors that open directly onto the garden where you can view the terraced landscape and meadows leading to the swimming-pool (with salt electrolysis treatment and tanning booth), surrounded by roses, rosemary, oleanders, strawberry trees, myrtle, jasmine and weeping willows. From here your gaze can take in the Valdichiana all the way to the hills of Siena.
From an altitude of 600 meters, Cortona dominates the Valdichiana, all the way to the peaks of Amiata. Besides its artistic importance (its medieval look and small alleys are so captivating), its strategic geographic position makes it an important tourist attraction: in no time you can reach the cities of Tuscany and Umbria such as Florence, Siena, Perugia, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Lake Trasimeno, Arezzo, Assisi, Gubbio, Orvieto, Spoleto.
