The agriturismo

Agriturismo Resort Il Foionco is pleased to welcome you to its farmhouse nestled in the Tuscan Maremma countryside , just 5 km from the sea. Here rural style meets all the comforts of a resort. It has an Italian garden where you can relax and read a good book, a heated swimming pool with whirlpool and adjoining spaces to enjoy the sun and other facilities for those who have people's well-being at heart.

Respect for the environment, sustainability and ecology are at the core of the thinking behind Foionco.

The facility has a charging station for electric cars with 22kw power.

The accommodation

The resort has 8 double double rooms are all 18 sq. m. self-contained units built in green building, with private entrance and outdoor space. Inside is a comfortable hallway, a double bed, three-door closet and sideboard. The very large bathroom houses a spacious and colorful walk-in shower.

Also available is an apartment with 3 double bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, kitchen and private loggia.

The lodgings have been made of wood according to green building standards in Energy Class A .

The renovation of the old manor house was also carried out with a green perspective. Flooring and wall coverings were made of certified antibacterial stoneware materials.

The heated swimming pool, with very low energy consumption and a new generation microfiltration system, allows minimal use of chemicals.

 

The garden, designed by an experienced landscape architect, is composed of Mediterranean plants and flowers that require low water use even in hot weather.


Foionco uses renewable energy produced by the farm's two photovoltaic systems for
a total of 36kw of maximum power.
In the same vein, the accommodation is managed, serving organic or sustainable and local products and avoiding waste. Maximum attention is paid to separate waste collection and the use of pollutants for hygiene and cleaning.

 

The heated pool is set in a large green space bordered by stone walls, with lawn and wooden decks for sunbathing. Comfortable sunbeds with wheels and pool towels are provided. The regular rectangular-shaped pool is designed for those who like to swim but also relax. At 22m long, it has a demarcated area with seating and whirlpool. The water heating system allows its use even in the intermediate seasons.

 

The farm has obtained organic certification for all its products, mainly extra virgin olive oil and cereals, with its 17 hectares of land planted with olive trees, arable land and forest.

Activities and surrounding

The farm is certified ORGANIC and follows the principle of rotation as far as arable crops are concerned, which is useful for soil regeneration and respects the recovery time of the field. In addition, no plowing is done to preserve the natural stratification of the soil, which is essential for biodiversity.

The property is located in the municipality of Massa Marittima, a renowned medieval town in the province of Grosseto, adjacent to the natural park of Montioni, 5 km from the beaches of Follonica.

Many are the possible activities in the surroundings. Mountain bike trails, hiking, horseback riding. Visits to archaeological sites, mining parks, protected areas. Present a few kilometers away, a large aquarium with species from all over the world and a water park. Then there is no shortage of all sea-related activities, in addition to the beach, canoeing, SUP, sailboats, diving centers.

The choice forwine tourism lovers is also rich. There are in fact many wineries, including international ones, in the area and available for tastings and visits.

Thanks to its strategic location, stupendous cities of art and numerous medieval villages are also within easy reach.
