Il Poggiale

The Farmhouse Il Poggiale is located between Maremma and Chianti on the Nature Reserve of the Basso Merse River (at 30 Km from Siena and 45 Km from Grosseto) in the gently rolling hills of the pristine green countryside with wonderful views of woods and cultivated fields in the valley. The woods surrounding the farm are filled with ancient oaks, beech and juniper trees and are also home to deer, hare, badgers and pheasants. The  Merse River flows beside the farmhouse. 

The Farm offers hospitality in apartments on a 17th century farm. All the apartments have been renovated recently without altering the characteristic charm of the original farmhouse. Wooden beams and antique furnishings add to the warmth and comfort of each apartment. Each apartment is fully equipped with a kitchenette, independent heating system and hot water showers, making them a home away from home even during the winter months. Beside each apartment is a reserved “open air” corner with a table and chairs. Some units are equipped with a wood-burning fireplace. All are very comfortable for a relaxing holiday. A large lounge (35 sq.m.)  may be available  for groups. A swimming pool (12x6) is available for guest use only. Upon request, it is possible to consume your meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at the nearby farmhouse at a special rate.

Apt. 3 - Primula (2+1 beds). 36 sq.m, two rooms, living room with sofa bed, kitchenette, 1 double bed room, bathroom with shower.
Apt. 4 - Girasole (4+2 beds). 60 sq.m, three rooms, living room with 2 single sofa beds, kitchenette, fireplace, 1 double bed room, 1 twin bed room, bathroom with shower.

Apt. 5 – Lavanda (4+2 beds). 55 sq.m, three rooms, living room with double sofa bed, kitchenette, fireplace, 1 double bed room, 1 twin bed room, bathroom with shower.
Apt. 6 – Rosmarino (4+2 beds). 60 sq.m, three rooms, living room with 2 single sofa beds, kitchenette, 1 double bed room, 1 twin bed room, bathroom with shower. Suitable for disabled guests.
Apt. 7 – Ortensia (2+2 beds). 45 sq.m, two rooms, living room with 2 single sofa beds, kitchenette, 1 double bed room, bathroom with shower.

La “Casetta” – ground floor
