The agriturismo

The agriturismo is set in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, 15 minutes from the sea, amidst woods and vineyards, at the foot of the medieval village of Montiano. It offers the right atmosphere for a relaxing holiday on the discovery of the local area and its typical products.

 

The farm covers an area of about 26 hectares of hilly land, cultivating mainly cereals, vines and olives.

The accommodation

The agriturismo offers 2 recently renovated apartments furnished, where possible, with family furniture in typical Tuscan rustic style.

 

Moraiolo (first floor): one double and two single rooms, large equipped kitchen, bathroom with tub.

Pendolino (ground floor): double and twin room, sitting room/kitchen with sofa and wood fireplace, bathroom with shower.

 

Garden furnished with hammocks and sun loungers, tables and chairs, barbecue, children’s play area and swimming pool with patio.

Activities and surrounding

The agriturismo is a starting point for trips to the sea (14 km away), to beaches, to ancient medieval villages steeped in history and traditions, and to archaeological sites.

The surrounding areas include a golf course, a lake for recreational fishing, several riding stables, Etruscan and Roman ruins and just a few km away is the Maremma Natural Park, Mount Argentario, the thermal springs at Saturnia, ferry boats for visiting the islands of Giglio and Giannutri,  as well as parks, natural reserves and protected areas.

Some clarifications in response to the review:
-The pool must mandatorily be fenced in and respect a nightly closing period (and therefore must be locked to prevent access to guests for security reasons) in compliance with the regional law that every Tuscan agriturismo must adhere to
-The non-functioning oven could not be replaced with an identical one matched to the kitchen because, although it had been put in order, it would not have arrived by the end of the guest's stay. A supra-table oven was immediately brought to the guest to replace the non-functioning one
-The grill on the extractor hood was not 'disgustingly dirty' but simply glimpsed the filter, which obviously cannot be removed so as not to foul its operation
-The living room remains closed due to the unfinished covid-19 pandemic, due to the inability to ensure guests' perfect sanitation of sofas, draperies and fabrics at every guest change and on the same day. Just as, for the same reason, all kitchen equipment has been reduced to the bare essentials.
-On sale on the farm extra virgin olive oil from our olive groves and 'typical product' in which, however, the guest was probably not interested. We explained to the guest that we do not directly vinify the grapes produced on the farm but that they are delivered to the cooperative winery of which the farm is a member and where it was possible to find packaged wine.
