The Murelle farm was bought in the early years of the 20th century by the present owner’s grandfather, but a date carved in the cellar indicates that the estate was established at least two centuries before that. In all thirty hectares of vineyards olive groves and woodland stretch from the main road to the crest of the hills. The Moretti agricultural company “Le Murelle” is situated in the Tuscan countryside, 7 km from Lucca. The farm produces wine and extra-virgin olive oil and offers hospitality for tourists with agricultural interest in typical farm-houses recently restructured in the traditional way. Older people used to refer to the Murelle farm as the ‘Red House’ as well as its proper name, and it has recently been repainted in shades of red. Inside the house, the owner has preserved a rustic stile of furnishing, with the addition of personal touches which give guests the feeling they are staying in a real home. Every the flowers are changed, using those that grow in the meadow, along with sprigs of laurel, medlar or mimosa.

The farm stretches for about 30 ha gently moving from the plain up to the hills where vineyards and olive trees grow. The estate includes the villa and 5 farmhouses. In four of them members of the family usually live but one has been converted in apartments for tourists. This guesthouse is surrounded by wonderful vineyards and a few steps far a large hard-built swimming-pool has been recently realized. Marietto’s House (6 persons): living room, large furnished lounge kitchen with open fire place (ground-floor), double bedroom, two bedrooms each with two single beds, two bathrooms with shower (first floor). Lorenzo’s House (6 persons): entrance, dining room, large furnished lounge kitchen with open fire place (ground floor), double bedroom and two other bedrooms each with two single beds, two bathrooms with shower (first floor). Monte Loft and Valle Loft (2/3 persons): situated on the second floor, it’s the antique loft of the old farm house and maintains all the original features and the atmosphere. The overall surface area of the apartment is 60 msq. The apartment has a lounge kitchen with open fire place, a large bedroom with double and single bed, bathroom with shower. Fellino’s House (2 persons): it’s a small flat at the second floor of the patronal villa. This flat has its independent entrance and is situated at the top of the hill which dominates the Freddana valley and therefore it has a beautiful view with the country around and the city of Lucca and its towers at the horizon. There is also the possibility to relax in the small wood just outside the flat or in the nice villa garden. At Fellino’s you’ll find a furnished kitchen, double bedroom, bath with shower and heating.
