The agriturismo
On top of a hill from which there is an incomparable view of the valley, the Apennines and the Apuan Alps, an ancient rural hamlet from the 1500s, surrounded by the green mountains of Lunigiana, has been completely restored and transformed into a delightful country hotel, preserving the typical characteristics of the rural environment through the masterful use of original materials, supplemented with furnishings recreated by local artisans on models found in the farmhouses of Lunigiana at the end of the 19th century.
The accommodation
From the manor house and rooms once intended for the farmer's family, 14 different rooms have been created, with private bathrooms, telephone, TV, decorated wrought-iron beds, vaulted or beamed ceilings, stone fireplaces and terracotta floors.
Careful attention to product selection and a creative cook are the recipe for the restaurant's success. In the old stone cellars or in the farmyard overlooking the valley, you can enjoy traditional Lunigiana dishes, prepared "the old way," with recipes handed down from the family's grandmothers.
In addition to the tennis court, a swimming pool surrounded by flowering meadows is set in the center of the park. Ancient paths in the valley or among the hills along the Via Francigena can be traveled on foot, horseback, mountain bike or quad bike.
Activities and surrounding
Lunigiana, a land of ancient castles, preserves wonderful medieval villages; very close to the sea, it also makes it possible to reach in a short time illustrious cities of art such as Florence, Lucca and Pisa.
For those with a sweet tooth, an excursion to also taste the specialties of Emilia is not to be missed.
Finally, for those who want to indulge in some extra fun, Forte dei Marmi, Viareggio, Versilia and the wonderful Cinque Terre are a diversion not to be missed.
