Recently restructured, Villetta of Monterufoli, has been built in 1850. It was a railway station coalmine first and then it has been under the ownership of the descendants of the Count Ugolino of the Gherardesca from 1914 to the 1957; actually it is part of the Saiagricola Group S.p.A.

Monterufoli seems to be a romantic environmentalist's dream. It is surrounded by over a thousand hectares of uncontaminated natural, 800 hectares of which coppiced woodland and Maditerranean brush, 220 hectares of pasture and grain farming, 14 hectares of vineyards and 1 hectare of olive groves.
Villetta of Monterufoli is found on two floors and has a total area of approximately 500 square meters (5380 sq ft); on the ground floor there is a very spacious dining room with a fireplace, bar and satellite TV. On the first floor there are bedrooms, all with bathroom facilities, small balcony (some of them have air conditioning and whirlpool). In the tower there is a suite made up of two rooms with air conditioning, TV, whirlpool and a splendid view. The Villetta of Monterufoli is also handicapped accessible.
Authenticity is at the base of all food that is cooked and served to the guests at the estate.
If you love walking and hiking, it is possible to go in the picturesque cork tree woods and to follow numerous paths to discover streams and old mines. Horseback riding, basket and tennis court are also available.
