The Casa dei Girasoli is a family-managed farmhouse, immersed in nature, which is characterized by a 360° panoramic view over the hills of the Chianti region and its proximity to San Gimignano and the major tourist and cultural locations of Tuscany.

San Gimignano, the famous medieval city of the "Beautiful Towers”, a recognized UNESCO patrimony of culture and nature, is only 1 km and can easily be reached even on foot, with the advantage of a suggestive panoramic 15 minute walk.  

Casa dei Girasoli, which is classified by the Tuscany Region with 4 Sunflowers (corresponding to the 4 Stars of the Hotels) , offers its guests 4 spacious apartments, can host between 2 and 5 people, completely restructured in typical Tuscan style and equipped with all modern commodities.

Safe reception

Casa dei Girasoli is a small family Farmhouse with only 4 apartments and a maximum of 12 beds/people. It is in a quiet, isolated area, in the countryside and with large outdoor spaces.  It is located in greenery, far from the confusion of the city and where it is easy to guarantee respect for social distances.  Each apartment is totally independent and for private and exclusive use.  It is the ideal place to relax and to make day trips to discover the most beautiful places in Tuscany.

We have adapted to all national and regional anti-Covid safety protocols (for example guaranteeing the distancing between different families, cleaning and sanitizing apartments with specific products, making available hydro-alcoholic solutions for hand washing, etc.). In the swimming pool each apartment will be assigned an umbrella with sunbeds and each one will be spaced from the other guests.

The Casa dei Girasoli has recently been carefully restored, has maintained its typically Tuscan original characteristics, such as the vaulted ceilings, the brick arches and the terracotta pavements, while also including all modern commodities.

The result is an ideal combination of tradition and innovation, a perfect marriage between simplicity and comfort.

The Casa dei Girasoli offers its guests 4 spacious apartments, named after the colors of nature over the course of the ongoing flow of seasons: Azzurro after the sky, Verde after the countryside surrounding our structure, Giallo after the light of sunflowers, Arancio after the sun setting behind the hills of San Gimignano.

These are cozy and silent apartments and the first thing to strike you, upon entering, will be the broadness of the environments and their luminosity.

Each apartment has its own independent entrance and a private external space, featuring a table, chairs and deckchairs for sunbathing, where, after a day dedicated to walking or discovering cultural locations, you can relax and enjoy the picturesque setting of the sun reading your favorite book and sipping a glass of wine.

The apartments have different dimensions, can host between 2 and 5 people, according to the client’s needs, and each has its own personal, refined and unique style.  

AZZURRO Apartment: (for 4 people) consisting of 2 double bedrooms, one wardrobe room, one bathroom with shower box, ample hall-living room with fireplace and fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher) overlooking a large private outdoor area covered by a wooden pergola. The apartment is also equipped with a modern air conditioning system.

ARANCIO Apartment: (for 2 people), consisting of 1 double bedroom, one bathroom with shower box and an ample living room with fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher) overlooking a large private garden. The apartment is also equipped with a modern air conditioning system.

GIALLO Apartment: (for 4 people), consisting of 2 double bedrooms (one featuring a queen size bed, while guests can choose whether the other should feature a double bed or two separate single beds), ante-bathroom, one bathroom featuring a shower box,ample hall-living room with fireplace and accessorized kitchen. The apartment also has a large private external area featuring a gazebo and a garden.

VERDE Apartment: (for 2 people), consisting of 1 double bedroom, characterized by an impressive vaulted ceiling and original stone walls, one bathroom featuring a shower box and one small living room with an accessorized kitchen overlooking a private outdoor area.

Casa dei Girasoli is just 1 km from San Gimignano, the famous medieval city of the "Beautiful Towers”, a recognized UNESCO patrimony of culture and nature, which can be reached by car, city bus or even on foot with the advantage of a suggestive panoramic 15 minute walk along the famous Via Francigena.

San Gimignano offers many restaurants and pizzerias, pubs and bars, supermarkets and all types of stores for shopping and tasting the city’s culinary specialties (cheeses, cold cuts, oil, honey, saffron, crostini, sauces, etc.) and excellent wines (Vernaccia and Chianti).

A nighttime visit to the city will lead you straight into the world of fables: suggestive lights illuminate the towers, making them appear immense and, immersed in silence, you will truly enjoy the medieval atmosphere and experience the traditions of the past.

Less than 7 km from Casa dei Girasoli is a large manège where you can discover the Tuscan hills on horseback.

Near Casa dei Girasoli you can discover lovely paths that are ideal for trekking or mountain bike riding or, also nearby, you can practice sports such as tennis and golf.

If you love walking, we suggest exploring the famous Via Francigena, the European communication routes’ network built in medieval times, used by hundreds of pilgrims and merchants to travel from Canterbury to Roma: the road passes through San Gimignano.

You can organize excursions aboard vintage Fiat 500 automobiles or on the mythical Vespa and thus travel to small natural havens and extremely beautiful medieval towns.

For guests who want to spend some time by the seaside, just 70 km away is the beautiful Tyrrhenian coast of Tuscany, with the large and fully equipped beaches of Versilia and its rich night life.
