My husband and I stayed at San Giovanni with our baby daughter and my brother and his wife. It indeed was a perfect week. The place is beautifully set among rolling hills. It is perfect size if you value privacy - just a few rooms rustic and clean. Nice size swimming pool with breathtaking views and the sweetest hosts Giovanna and Giuseppe. Our daughter loved to look at the farm animals especially the baby pigs and ducks. Whether you choose to cook or eat out all the stores and restaurants are within a short drive. We did a little bit of both. By the way, the hosts grow fantastic farro. We also went to Siena, Montalcino and Montepulciano which were not too far by car but we felt sorry every time we had to leave this wonderful place. We will definitely come back again.

Thank you! We spent two perfect days in San Giovanni in August 2011 with our two children (10 and 13). The location is even better than it looks on the internet. The view from the (very clean!) Pool over the mountains was just magic, the apartment (la cantina) is spacious and very tastefully furnished. There is a television but the children did not really use it, because St. John is much more interesting than any of the films. We thought of keeping all this as a secret ... but on the other hand, Giovanna and Giuseppe were wonderful hosts such that we would like to recommend this farm to everybody who is looking for a memorable place to stay! You should not miss the little italian restaurant Il Ponte nearby - one of the many good advice and Giovanna Giuseppe gave us! We will hopefully come back soon!
