From the moment we arrived and met Giovanni to the moment we left, I felt like we were family. Giovanni is the most perfect of hosts. Plenty of stories to tell, stunning views, amazing hospitality and the best wine by far. Produced by his family. He also grows his own olives when in season. We were greeted every morning with the offer of espresso, and nothing was ever too much trouble for him.
The Tuscan views from the farmhouse, which sits on top of the Chianti hills is absolutely breathtaking. Giovanni plays italian music all day just loud enough so it's in the distance and while watching the views you get totally swept away in the moment. I could never grow old of looking at that view. Giovanni's grandfather is 95 and still works the land every day. There is a small Tratoria 1.5km away and the local village is around 2.5km away which hosts a co-op supermarket for essentials. We will most definately be back next year and can see us spending a few days here every year after. Keep up the good work Giovanni.
Our stay at il colle was an absolute dream. We found Giovanni to be is an incredible host, barista, and story-teller. We could not get enough of the 360 degree views of the Tuscan countryside and we can't wait to come back!
It 'was all so perfect, from the welcome of John, the structure prepared in every detail, of the nature that surrounds you, the peace that reigns, the desire to make you feel "at home", I can not find the right words to describe this corner of Tuscany so perfect. Thank you John for the passion that you put into doing things.
