The agriturismo, part of “Agricole Negro Valiani”, stands in the peaceful Salento countryside, amidst the typical colours of the Mediterranean shrubland, just a short distance from the beautiful beaches of southern Salento, which lie along beautiful jagged coastline.
The organic farm specialises in the production of organic extra virgin olive oil, jams and olive oil based cosmetics. On the main farm, guests can tour the olive press, and during the harvest, get involved with the pressing itself.
The main nucleus of the farm dates back to the 1800s, and comprises a tower-millstone and a stable. Starting from 2013, the accommodation structure underwent a careful renovation process: treasures hidden by previous renovations were brought back to life, and the stone base of an ancient grape press and an old fireplace were restored. The renovation process was slow, but filled with passion and excitement, performed in total respect for traditional local construction techniques, using the simple materials of days gone by. The skilled craftsmen were able to read the story written within the tuff blocks, and through meticulous like-for-like replacement, they dusted off its significance.
The agriturismo offers guest rooms that exude all the understated elegance of a traditional country home, with kitchenettes, safes, bed linen and towels (changed regularly), and independent air conditioning and heating. Guests also have access to on-site parking and ample outdoor space.
Casina Spiaggiano is located in the immediate outskirts of Presicce, a town listed as one of Italy's Most Beautiful Hamlets, part of the Oil City Association and known for its underground olive presses, used for oil production. 9 km away you’ll find the famous marinas of Torre Vado and Pescoluse (Maldives of Salento), and just a few minutes takes you to the towns and villages of the inland, with their characteristic historic centres and fine food and wine.
