Immersed in a large olive grove in the Salento countryside stands the Masseria Santo Blasio in Salento. A few minutes from Lecce (3 km) you can see the structure of the walls that enclose this ancient farmhouse, in which (studies of the University of Salento tell us) for 400 years during the Roman domination was located a customs house that imposed duties and taxes to anyone wishing to introduce products and goods in the city of Lecce.
Subsequently the destination of this beautiful farmhouse changed into a residence for summer holidays. As it is reported on the Latin engraving on the entrance portal in which a Lecce patrician, who signs Pizziniaco, wishes happy holidays to his friend who has just bought "the farm". It seems impossible, but it only takes a few minutes and as soon as you leave the city with its frenzy, you reach the Salento countryside with all its splendid suggestions. The olive trees with their twisted shapes, the fields of freshly mowed wheat, the narrow streets enclosed by dry stone walls that are lost on the horizon where you can see the sea and almost seems to smell the scent. An oasis of peace in the enchantment of stone, grass and sun of Salento. Set in the countryside of Surbo, Masseria Santo Blasio offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. A hot tub is also available. You can use free bikes. An Italian breakfast is served each morning.
