"Charming, peaceful, relaxing with delicious food"
07/24/2019We chose Villa Lupara because it looked peaceful but was near enough to places we were keen to visit. It was affordable, offered full-board using food grown by the owners and had a pool. We were looking for a relaxing holiday to suit our family of 4 after months of A Level and GCSE revision and we found it!
The accommodation was simple, clean and comfortable, it's not glamourous but we weren't paying glamourous prices. The pool was just lovely, a beautiful spot and it was always available when we wanted to swim, with our loungers reserved for us. We ate fantastically well and vegetarians were well catered for. As someone who cooks at home everyday it was just what I wanted, not restaurant food but fresh, local, typical, delicious and in generous (too generous!) proportions. I would be happy to eat grilled vegetables and garden salad everyday but there was also fresh stuffed pasta, walnut pesto, amazing huge buffalo mozzarella, barbequed meat including fantastic pork sausages with fennel seeds and local wine to wash it down.
The family were charming and welcoming. They open their house to paying guests and seem completely at one with this situation, all eating together in the large, semi outside, dining room, not all at the same table but sharing the space.
We visited Amalfi, Paestum and Salerno which is just 20 minutes' drive down the mountain but also spent a couple of days hanging around by the pool and reading. You don't need a car, you could fly to Naples and get to Salerno on the train then taxi or no. 19 bus which stops not far away. One of the best things is the location of the Villa, its position up the mountain means it's few degrees cooler than the coast and feels completely rural and peaceful. You can relax in the evening, looking down the valley to the sea and hear the sound of goats with clanging bells being driven home and cicardas doing their thing all around you.
You need to get on with the people you are holidaying with as there is no where else to go once you're there but our party ranging in age from 16-60 all loved it and would happily go back again.- Stay: 7/2019

"Ungracious owners will prevent this place achieve its full potential"
07/08/2019Staff lovely, owners disrespectful of their guests. Food ok. Mansarda apartment fine. Stupid pool rules means day guests of the pool get priority seating around the pool over residents!!! Unbelievable carry on. Not recommended.

"Awesome place ever!"
01/25/2019This is the best place I have been! Beautifull combination of environment, hospitality and delicious organic food. Well connected with all touristic places from Pompei to positano amalfi coast all around the area. I will definitely to go there.

"Charm structure in a botanical garden"
09/07/2018Stay of only one night. Friendly reception. Comfortable accommodation. Spectacular pool. Excellent breakfast. A slight drop in style on the dinner: small portions and - not expected - the dessert was not included in half board. Wine of own production excellent but expensive.

"**amazing venue, amazing wedding, amazing staff shame about the family and the owner**"
09/19/2015I had my wedding in V.Lupara 4th September. We had hired the whole venue out for 2 nights. It is a little gem amongst the wilderness, the setting, landscape and ambience.
The day itself was amazing, and I had a wonderful wedding. Rita the events planner that works with V.Lupara is extremely professional and helpful.
However, what massively lets this remarkable place down as a wedding venue is soley the family that own it. From the beginning we had to chase the venue and countless times we where spoken to rudely. The day before our wedding the owner allowed her dogs to urinate on furniture that we had hired from outside in addition she never offered our wedding planner a glass of water, coffee or tea. On the actual day of the wedding the owners daughter brought in 4 friends from outside which I found extremely unprofessional.
Thankfully, due to Rita and my wedding planner my day went off without any hitches and I would do it all over again exactly the same!
Unfortunatly, I do not recommend people to stay here as the owner is extremely rude, aggressive and unfriendly.
Goodluck to Villa Lupara for next season, however, think carefully of your options before booking,

"Six wonderful days"
05/27/2013In a familiar and friendly atmosphere we spent six wonderful days in one of the apartments at Villa Lupara. The location overlooking the sea and the surrounding vineyards we enjoyed very much. Culinary We were spoiled every night. The swimming pool is large and every night was a welcome refreshment.

08/23/2011Hello, conceals more than a month ago that we have returned to France and think about this wonderful stay at the villa Lupara past every day. Your kindness, your hospitality, your availability, your good advice concerning all things to see and do in the region has made our stay an unforgettable memory. You have contributed greatly to the success of our stay. What about the kitchen! We cheered every night of the idea of ??discovering new flavors and good wines. Lucie, Elijah and Mathis asked me to promise to send the photo to Daniela and kiss! Again a big thank you to all four! Anne and Jean-Michel Lucie, Elijah Mathis et

"reconciled to life"
06/14/2011the weekend was more relaxed and genuine that I have spent the last tempi.A shotgun house we found "refuge": no smog, no chaos, but such serenity, such a warm welcome, lots of good food and great wine. Among the many things we have done well also hit the scent of fresh laundry of linen. The reception was at once familiar and often indiscreta.Ritorneremo.

05/04/2011The shotgun house is a quaint and cozy place, but I advise you not to go there to eat a terrible Easter Monday with a menu of 40 euros but in reality it was worth up to 15 and will list all: appetizer: very few slices of cheese and counting a nice salami cheese first: a pasta that left much to be desired and the lack of filling the second first: tubettini hospital with melted cheese and salami (low ration) a slice of fried noglia (the waiter tells us only one head is a taste: )) second: a slice of meat from 50 grams (and I was generous) and a sausage side dish?? nothing even a plate of raw artichokes with lemon fruit to be divided by 4 as a mini glass with fresh strawberries 4: eravamamo 4 and for us a pasta dish with 3 slices of the bill then?? X 240 euros a menu very poor quality of products apart from the starter was poor (very poor quality meat) strongly recommend that you do not get back the classic menus ... Easter Monday to make money ... abomination!
