The agriturismo

Agriturismo Cerqueto is located about 3 kilometers from the center of Acquapendente, nestled in the hills of Alta Tuscia, on the border between Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany. It has in total six apartments. Guests of these apartments share the pool.

Il Cerqueto is an agri-food farm located in the region of Lazio. Cerqueto produces typical and organic products o the 'Viterbese' land, the area roughly between Rome and Siena.

The accommodation

Built in the second half of the 19th century, the farm has retained its original atmosphere and is now a wonderful example of an Italian farmhouse. The farm combines modern comfort with a natural environment in which guests can immerse themselves effortlessly.

The apartments at Agriturismo Cerqueto can accommodate a total of 31 people in 6 separate accommodations (11 bedrooms in total).

All are completely independent, equipped with fully equipped kitchen, colour TV and central heating. The apartments Farro and Girasole have a fireplace in the living room. The windows are equipped with mosquito nets. Each apartment has an outdoor space with table and chairs.

For large groups there is also the rental of the entire villa.

The large garden and the swimming pool with solarium are for the exclusive use of guests, as well as barbecue, wood-burning oven, laundry and ironing room, WiFi and covered parking.

Activities and surrounding

The farmhouse Cerqueto is part of our agricultural company Cerqueto SRL. We grow and produce high volumes of organic legumes, vegetables and cereals. Chickpease, lentils, beans and spelled are just some of the specialties that are grown and marketed. 

The conservation and enhancement of traditional Italian products is the main craftsmanship of the Cerqueto farm. Over time, the range of products has been extended to pasta, oil, paté, olive oil, jams, honey, vegetable-based preparations, wines and liqueurs.

Guests who love to walk outdoors can retrace some stretches of the ancient Via Francigena on horseback, on foot or by bicycle. Those who love adventure can experience history by following the legendary Percorso dei Briganti, an ancient path used by bandits travelling between Abruzzo and Lazio.

Agriturismo Cerqueto is located in the northern part of Lazio, on the border with Tuscany and Umbria and therefore in an extremely favourable position for many towns of historical value, beautiful parks, thermal baths and beaches of Montalto di Castro. The nearby town of Acquapendente is an important agricultural area. In addition, it is well known for its pottery craftsmanship.

Lake Bolsena is only 20 km away and can be easily reached in about twenty minutes. In the immediate vicinity are the natural park of Turona and several Etruscan excavations, such as the Temple of the Etruscan city of Civita d'Arlena. The city of Orvieto, 30 kilometers away, has a classic beauty not to be missed during a holiday in this area. You can also visit several thermal sites in the region, for example Fonteverde in San Casciano dei Bagni.
