The agriturismo

An 8 hectare organic estate in the commune of Zavattarello, one of Italy's most beautiful hamlets, famous for its centuries old castle, nestled in the hills of the Oltrepò Pavese.
The stone farmhouse, renovated to ensure sustainability, enjoys a wonderful location overlooking the valley, in a peaceful, cool spot away from the pollution, light and noise of the city. The ideal place to switch off and enjoy a spot of pampering.

Start your day with a homemade breakfast, before choosing from one of the many workshops on offer, enjoy an on-site kinesiology session or simply explore the agriturismo's beautiful surroundings.

The accommodation

Guest accommodation is available in 6 rooms, with private access and their own bathrooms. Breakfast includes homemade sweet treats and leavened bread made with centuries old mother dough, and wheat stone-ground the night before. All accompanied by the farm's own organic jams. Close by, you'll find the agriturismo's partner restaurant, which offers wholesome cuisine at unbeatable prices.

 

The agriturismo is passionate about respecting the environment and energy saving, with photovoltaic and solar panels for electricity and hot water, a thermo-fireplace, tanks to collect rainwater, a salt filtered swimming pool (which reduces the use of chlorine) and flow reducers. The bed linen and towels dry in the sun, and the agriturismo produces its own detergents.

 

The agriturismo has been recognised by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for its commitment to environmental sustainability and boats Legambiente sustainability certification.

It is also part of a network of female-run agriturismos in the area, with access to a wide range of additional facilities and services.

Activities and surrounding

You can relax in the swimming pool, play ping pong or take part in one of the workshops on offer, from herbology to home fermentation (mother dough, kefir and kombucha) or specific sessions on parenting (from breastfeeding to not using nappies, and other aspects of conscious parenting).

 

What makes this agriturismo unique is its holistic offering, comprising individual sessions and classes in kinesiology, a discipline based on traditional Chinese medicine concepts which uses precision muscle testing as a tool to communicate with the total system of the individual, to identify energy imbalances and release stress. You can request a free demo.

The agriturismo is part of a network of local operators, enabling guests to discover the region's outstanding food and wine and enjoy a variety of activities in this area which boasts some truly spectacular nature.

A nearby riding centre offers horseback excursions through the woods, with beginners' pony sessions for children. Just a short distance away you'll also find the Salice and Rivanazzano spa centres, several castles, the organic alpine vegetable garden of Pietra Corva and the Salice Terme Adventure Park. All of this just 1.5 hours from Milan.
