Hunum is located on a "mid-coast" organic farm where chestnuts, small fruits, vegetables and honey are produced.
The products are almost all processed on site to have the shortest possible supply chain.
Hunum is the place to disconnect and find your own time.
The accommodation
Hunum is a farm producing red fruits, honey and chestnuts in Valchiavenna, near Lake Como, Valtellina andEngadine.
The property is nestled in a forest of ancient chestnut trees at an altitude of about 800m.
Cabin H386 is the most intimate of the cabins and is on two levels. The master bedroom, on the second floor, has a large skylight from which you can admire the stars during clear summer nights. From the window, on the other hand, you can admire Pizzo di Prata, which rises majestically on the opposite side of the valley.
Castanedi 5 is a Hunum-style chalet a stone's throw from the main building in the charming village of Castanedi. The detached chalet has a private garden with an outdoor sitting and dining area, two bedrooms a bathroom and a large living room with kitchen. From the large window you can admire the majestic mountains of Valchiavenna, and the valley below to Lake Como.
The property is equipped with all amenities, including free public parking within walking distance.
At Hunum art, design, and nature come together for aunique experience, but don't forget the food! The kitchen is ready to satisfy all culinary desires, accompanied by chestnut lager beer, or a bottle of wine straight from the cellar.
Experiences such as a pottery workshop with a local artist, or yoga class are also available.
Activities and surrounding
Menarola is located in the Rhaetian Alps, in a very specific belt called the "Half Coast." This is the preferred climatic belt for thechestnut tree, which reigns supreme in the forests in these parts, giving the passerby its sweet and nutritious fruits.
The east-southeast exposure ensures a particularly mild climate, ideal for small fruit crops and beekeeping.
On the opposite slope towers Pizzo di Prata, in all its grandeur, providing a picture-postcard view.
Hunum is nestled in the forest, seemingly framed in the canopies of chestnut and birch trees. Because of this, although it is only 15 minutes away from Chiavenna, it feels like being completely isolated in the wilderness.
A concierge service is offered to guests to arrange personalized experiences that can range from fishing to canyoning, hiking, helicopter rides or boat rides.
