Frazione Gorzano 210, località Ronchesio, 14015 San Damiano d'Asti (Asti)
Nestled atop a hill, surrounded by forests, fruit orchards and vineyards, this agriturismo is found around the eighteenth-century residence, which has been renovated and enlarged and joins perfectly with the surroundings, ensuring high standards of hospitality for our guests, who can choose to relax in the spacious centuries-old park with our historic rose garden.
The agriturismo also organizes educational courses of fiber art, gardening, horticulture, cooking, and bread making.
The agriturismo offers 4 accommodations, made with environmental friendly materials. All our rooms have air conditioning, free Internet, sat TV, sound diffusion system, bar fridge, bath with whirlpool. You may also choose for half or full meal plan, thus savoring our sought-after Piedmont cooking.
This place is perfect for romantic dinners, thanks to an enchanting winter garden, once a greenhouse: a play of lights from dawn to dusk and the crackling fireplace on cold winter nights wed with the panorama that can be admired from the windows.
We also have a small and comfortable hammam – with Turkish bath and color/aroma therapy – plus two reading rooms.
Our agriturismo is found in San Damiano d'Asti, a hamlet between the Langhe and Monferrato, characterized by a medieval core and numerous churches.
Only 2 km away is the Castello di Cisterna d'Asti (11th cent.) that hosts the Museo delle Arti e dei Mestieri: on display, circa 3000 objects from Cisterna and nearby. Don’t miss the towns of Asti (with its feast), Alba (truffle fair), the Castello di Govone and that of Magliano Alfieri.
Guests may also stroll along old paths, on foot or by bike; visits to local wine cellars; the nearby horse stables.
Inform the agriturismo of any animals at the time of booking.

I spent a week here with my family, 4 of us in total, last week. Normally I would start a review like this with the negatives, but I can't come up with any.
Everything about the Piccolo Principe is just fantastic and exactly what we were hoping for. When I reserved, I only reserved breakfast thinking that, given the incredible food and reasonable prices in the Langhe, we would eat many meals out. That all changed after the first night. Giovanna and her team provide fantastic value for money with absolutely delicious locally sourced foods and cooking as good as any restaurant of equivalent price in the region. Franco has done an exceptional job selecting wines from around Asti first, then the Langhe in general, to offer even the most demanding drinker a solution - and I should know, because that is me. We had enough Arneis, Barbera and Nebbiolo to cover every possible terroir and made some fantastic discoveries. The complexity of the cuisine allowed for multiple pairings at each meal and I couldn't have asked more from any restaurant, even at higher prices.
The hotel is wonderful, the rooms are large, air-conditioned and delightfully comfortable. The pool (and franco's ability to deliver sparkling wines at a minute's notice) made the evenings a pleasure. And there was always - from 8am to midnight - someone standing by to ask if we needed anything else.
I highly recommend the establishment and will be back again. Many thanks to Giovanna, Clothilde and Franco for a fabulous week.
We stayed one week with the family at this lovely hotel, and it was the highlight of our entire summer holidays! The children still ask us when we can return to visit Giovanna!
The most outstanding about this place is the incredible hospitality and kindness of Giovanna and Franco, who made us feel like home and became real friends.
All rooms are nicely decorated in the theme of the little prince, and very spacious. We especially appreciated the air condition during this hot summer time. The terrace and restaurant are in an elegant and modern decor, but with a personal touch. The garden is very spacious and offers many nice areas to enjoy the peace and calm, and the beautiful landscape. As for the children, it was an excellent place to play hide-and seek and stroll around.
The meals were delicious, starting with the daily breakfast with homemade products. Special wishes were promptly fulfilled to make everyone happy.
The dinners consisted of typical gastronomic specialities from the Piemont, all homemade by Giovanna. Franco recommended the nice wines to make the dinner perfect.
Last but not least, we all fell in love with their dog Whiskey, who was very friendly and playful.
The hotel is well located to visit the beautiful region, we went to Alba, Asti and Turin, and even to the sea.
Altogether it was a real pleasure staying at the Piccolo Principe, we enjoyed it and will definitely come back! Thank you for all!
We booked 5 days at Piccolo Principe and fortunately were able to add another 2 days, our entire family fell in love with this place and its sweet and caring people. Our children enjoyed the swimming pool immensely, and we went to see the goats everyday. In the morning we visited some cities in the neighborhood, such as Barbaresca, Neives and Alba. Great views and great ice cream! In the evening Giovanna and her team cooked truly delicious Italian meals consisting of 3-4 antipasti, then pasta, then meat and dessert if you still had some room left. For the children the pasta was served immediately and they could play on the terrace where dinner is served. These evenings are the best memories of our 3 weeks holiday in Italy! We made new friends, celebrated a birthday, drank great wine and tasted even greater food. Giovanna and Franco make you feel welcome immediately, you truly feel part of the Piccolo Principe family when you leave. We definitely recommend this to families with children as it is a perfect place to relax and get away from everything for a few days.
