The agriturismo

The accommodation
For literature fans, the name of the farm is a nod to the famous novel by Cesare Pavese (La Luna e i Falò, the Moon and the Bonfires) and the author’s strong sense of attachment to this Lower Piedmont region. The agriturismo’s philosophy centres upon maximum quality: Ester, queen of the kitchen, masterfully recreates ancient Piedmont recipes and Franco, as a good homeowner should, welcomes all those looking for hospitality in its truest sense.
The house is nestled in the hills, surrounded by vines and fields, and tells its story through objects and memorabilia that Franco has gathered over the years, through his passion for antique markets, on display to guests in the approximately 50-seater lounge. As well as the lounge, the adjacent veranda has also been converted into an enclosed portico with large windows which offer extensive views of the breathtaking landscape that it the surrounding hills. Ester’s cuisine, also detailed in a famous book on sale in the United States, is able to bring to life the ancient flavours of Piedmont tradition, with an emphasis on seasonality and the selection of the very finest ingredients from local farms.
The agriturismo also offers 3 rooms, classically furnished, each with their own private bathroom.
Canelli is at the bottom of the Montferrat region, just a short distance from the Langhe: a place of fine wine, great food and beautiful pathways through green countryside, to be explored by bicycle or on foot.
