Via Bussinello - Regione Piancanelli, 12, 14053 Canelli (Asti)
The agriturismo was established in 1994 with the aim of promoting the Langa and Montferrat region, with the “big six”: wonderful vegetables, cheeses, hazelnuts, meats, wines and truffles.
Guest accommodation is provided in Novecento style rooms, and the agriturismo's restaurant serves traditional dishes such as “bollito misto” - a traditional Italian stew, “agnolotti al plin” - small pieces of pasta filled with a roast beef and vegetable stuffing, and “bagna caoda” - a warm dip typical of Piedmont.
Nestled in stunning landscape, in the hills around Canelli, the Rupestr agriturismo offers a truly warm, typically rurally welcome.
The farm's 2.2 hectares are mainly used to grow vines. There is also a 60-seater restaurant with traditional terracotta flooring, from which guests can enjoy beautiful views stretching right to the Alps. The farm's grapes are used to produce Dolcetto and Moscato wines. The farm also grows a wealth of other produce used to make excellent preserves. A wood fire warms the property during the colder months.
Single, twin and triple rooms are available, with the option to add an extra bed at a discounted price.
Langa and Montferrat are regions full of history and tradition, enjoying extremely fertile terrain and a mild microclimate thanks to their proximity to both the coast (45 km) and the hills which shelter them from colder currents. The area remains off the beaten tourist track, the perfect place to get lost among vines, fruit trees and woodland. Guests can enjoy delicious truffles and mushrooms, depending on the season, as well as wonderful acacia honey and tasty walnuts. The rivers are rich in trout, carp, chub, bleak (excellent for frying) and eel.
The agriturismo works in partnership with a riding school, a golf course and a cycling guide association, with the possibility of discounts for guests. Guests staying for 2 days or more also have access to the swimming pool.
Canelli is well-known for its wines and traditional spumantes, such as Moscato d'Asti and Asti Spumante.
Asti is just a short distance away (25 km), along with Alba (30 km) and Roero, but also Liguria (78 km takes you to Savona, 100 km to Genoa) and Piedmont (88 km takes you to Turin). Milan is 150 km away. Be sure to visit the hamlets of Cortemilia and Aqui (both 25 km away).
Inform the agriturismo of any animals at the time of booking.

We just come back from holiday. Spent three days in Rupestr. What can I say, from amazing surroundings, delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere was great. We had an opportunity to taste delicious food and wine, always something different and local and seasonal. The place is located couple of kilometres from Canelli and is a good base for exploring the surrounding area or walks. We had a room with terrace and could just be admiring the view of the rolling hills and wineyards.
What made our stay unforgettable is however very friendly and approachable owner Giorgio and his family.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Rupestr is in the middle of the vineyards above Canelli, you have a great view on Piedmont Hills. It is quiet, no cars. Giorgio and his Family are very warm People Which make you feel comfortable. The rooms are simple and clean and have a nice rustical environment. The pool is refreshing and you can relax in the lying chairs. And the dinner is just excellent - be prepared for 6 courses, handmade, with products from the own garden, different wines from the surroundings. All is made and served with great passion.
