The agriturismo
Immersed in the nature of the Po River Park, just a few minutes from Turin, Cascina Gai offers hospitality and tranquillity, with typical Piedmontese cooking, the opportunity to stay in four rooms and walks and excursions in the Turin and Cuneo areas to discover the Piedmontese Baroque and the nature trails.
The accommodation
The farm breeds free range cattle for meat and milk and grows cereals and a variety of vegetables. The typical Piedmontese dishes are made using simple, healthy foods, with familiar, authentic flavours, presented with a twist. The wines, oils and all foods that are not produced on the farm come from other agriturismos that are part of the Piedmont Agriturismo Consortium (Consorzio Agriturismo Piemonte). Accommodation is provided in very spacious, comfortable double rooms, all with private bathroom and television, with the possibility of additional beds for children or large families.
The agriturismo restaurant is open by appointment: tasting menu €28-30
Activities and surrounding
Nature lovers can visit the Stork and Wild Animal Rescue Centre in Racconigi (22 km) and take a ride along the vast network of cycle paths along the Route of the Po in the Carmagnola area, or cross the river on horseback. Inside the Park, you can go fishing in designated areas.
Of particular historical and artistic interest: Carignano Cathedral (3 km), Valinotto Sanctuary or the Church of the Visitation (7.5 km), Castle of Racconigi (22 km), Palazzina di Caccia (Hunting Residence) of Stupinigi (21 km).
