The agriturismo
The agriturismo is quite inviting, nestled in the Sardinian countryside. It’s located at Girillu Spinosu, about 1 km from the medieval city of Iglesias, boasting over 900 years of history. Guests are offered many services, suited to their own specific needs: excursions on foot or horse, babysitters, animals are welcome, typical cooking, and the possibility of choosing the following meal solutions: bed & breakfast, half-meal or whole-meal plan.
The accommodation
The agriturismo Su Bistentu is composed of 8 double rooms for 16 beds in all. The rooms are air conditioned and have a large private bathroom.
The dining room is very spacious and has been designed also to set up large receptions . Breakfast has no time constraints, for those who need to rest a few more hours in the morning. The cuisine respects the typical Sardinian traditions: it is possible to taste ravioli, malloreddus and other tasty local dishes, all homemade, in the realization of which the guests can participate in first person.
The genuineness of the products is guaranteed by the owners of the farmhouse, since they are all fruits of their land, that you can pick up and bring directly to the table. You can choose between the various formulas that best suit your needs, including bed & breakfast, half board and full board.
It is possible to take part in zootechnical activities, assist in the production of cheese and ricotta and, obviously, taste them. The agriturismo also has a shooting range for those who want to handle the medieval crossbows or try their hand at archery.
The farmhouse offers a relaxing holiday, making its guests enter an oasis of peace, but also sports and entertainment. The fields that surround the entire area, also ensure a beautiful landscape in which to get lost and immerse yourself. The services offered by the farmhouse are many, you just have to choose the most suitable for your holiday.
For those with children, there is a babysitting service, and for sports enthusiasts and excursionists, there is no shortage of sporting activities and guided tours, as well as fantastic horse riding. The doors of the accommodation are also open for small pets.
Activities and surrounding
The agriturismo is located in southwest Sardinia, in the area of Sulcis-Iglesiente. It is surrounded by the wild natural oasis of the Parco del Marganai, with breathtaking cliffs, golden beaches, and many mining sites. The town hosts the Parco Geominerario, considered UNESCO World Heritage, and has 95 archeological sites ranging from the pre-Nuraghic to today. The agriturismo is at the heart of this area and allows its guests to visit, in collaboration with the association ETNOS, all these interesting places. Guided tours on mountain bikes or, for the less brave, in jeeps, are available.
