In contrast to all other agriturismos we visited in Sicily, at Santa Margherita nobody seems to really care about guests, people seem to be only doing a job.
- No warm welcome, especially the male service in the restaurant and at breakfast is not friendly.
- Instant coffee is offered for breakfast, Cappuccino is served only upon request, nobody offers or informs that it is included.
-plastic instead of real glasses for juice are not very eco friendly but less work for staff.
- Cats and dogs are nice for the kids but the other animals live in poor conditions and the advertised horse riding is not possible.
- The pool is dirty all the time, different excuses why it is not cleaned.
- Football and tennis pitch have cracks and plants growing.
-WiFi sometimes works, sometimes not.
- Overall 500 EUR for an appartment including breakfast with two kids in October was a cheap stay, but also not very recommendable for a nice time. The team could make much more out of this location.
If it wasn't for the first class view and quality of food at the restaurant I wouldn't recommend this Agriturismo. We took our young children their for a short stay and for a distraction from the big cities in Italy. We were greeted with little interest and the woman in Reception even made our driver escort us to our room. Isn't this their job? We had no instructions of what and where the facilities were and only given the wifi code because the kids asked for it. We were not told the rooms were not serviced daily and in the middle of the night we ran out of toilet paper. Reception was closed. I cannot fault the quality of the food but be warned, if you eat what that provide or ask for a smaller light meal you will be charged the same price.
Overall an average experience. There is so much to do as we intended to bike ride or take a cooking class but lost interest as the staff were not interested in us.
Please to meet you, my name is Giuseppe and I am 51 years old.
I have been working here for 10 years along with my family.
As well as we cook for the guests, we welcome the guests, we take care of the crops.
It was a desire to to keep the family business alive which led me to run an agriturismo.
Our guests especially appreciate the warm family welcome.
