The agriturismo
Just outside the Puez-Odle Nature Park, in Val Badia, the Ostì Vedl farm is the perfect place to immerse yourself in Ladin history and culture, in a charming rustic setting.
Ciasa Medalghes offers 5 scenically located apartments, just 50 metres from the farm. You'll find ample parking, a garden with loungers and a barbecue, as well as a vegetable garden filled with salad items and aromatic herbs.
The accommodation
Ciasa Medalghes was built using eco-friendly building techniques, with solid wood furniture and a centralised anti-allergic air purification system, as well as plenty of room to store your personal belongings. You’ll also find bicycle and ski storage with a ski boot dryer.
The 5 apartments, each with scenic south-facing balcony and teak furniture, are named after the surrounding mountains, and boast independent entrances, bathrooms with showers, hairdryers and heated towel rails. The kitchenettes all include crockery, cutlery, a fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, ceramic hob, coffee machine and kettle.
Delicious farm produce is available, from the cows that graze on the alpine pastures, the free-range hens, and the fruit grown in the garden, as well as from South Tyrol's finest orchards.
Activities and surrounding
The farm offers a wealth of activities for an enjoyable holiday amidst nature and picture-postcard landscapes: you can explore the valley and the mountain, benefitting from valuable suggestions and tips from the owners, relax on the loungers in the garden and enjoy total tranquillity, and start the day with a breakfast of fresh eggs and milk straight from the cow. In summer, guests have access to the vegetable garden with herbs, salad and seasonal vegetables, and you can watch your little ones have fun and play with the farm animals.
The core of the farm, the old osteria, is the first inn that is mentioned in the chronicle of the village of Longiarù from the beginning of the 16th century. The osteria is currently being renovated to restore its original splendour.
The Ostì Vedl estate also owns a restored and functioning water mill, with guided tours from the owner available upon request.
The stables represent centuries of tradition in rearing cows for milk and meat in the Longiarù Valley. And alongside the cows, the stables are also home to goats, rabbits, hens, pigs and cats.
At the Munt Cörta “baita”, a typical mountain dwelling located at the entrance to the Puez-Odle Nature Park, you can enjoy a mountain grill.
Every season has lots to offer to make the most of the beautiful nature. For example, for a winter holiday, Longiarù enjoys easy access to the two most famous ski areas of the Dolomiti Superski resort - Plan de Corones and Alta Badia: both suitable for beginners and experts, offering a wealth of winter sports, from alpine skiing to snowboarding and cross-country skiing.
