We have just returned from a very pleasant stay at Alfred and Erika, charming hosts who have placed at our disposal a very comfortable apartment, located in the pretty little hamlet of Stilves, a few steps from Vipiteno. The area is beautiful, lively and quiet at the same time. A delight !!

We stayed in the Erdbeere apartment for one week and had a great time. The apartment in very cozy with an amazing view from the bathroom and the hallway. It appears to be pretty new and very well kept. There are two bedrooms with enough space for four to sleep. The beds were very comfortable. The furniture is all very nice - seeming to be hand made out of wood and not from Ikea. The kitchen was perfect for us to make breakfast every day and to pack our lunches each day. The family is very nice and helpful. We got to spend some time in the barn with the cows and chickens and got to pet both of their cats. They also have a wonderful garden with fresh lettuce and fruit and a nice swing set for kids. They even brought out a trampoline when we were there in the summer. We had breakfast there on our first morning and it was good. It is located in a wonderful small village that you can walk around easily that has a stream and resident ducks and a beautiful church. But you do need a car to get to the larger town of Sterzing which is only about five minutes away. There is a nice hotel/restaurant called Lener that is also a five minute drive in the other direction that also has a great play ground for kids. We stayed with our six year old daughter who loved it. We did lots of hiking and walking around in nature. There is also a great castle to visit that is only five minutes away and a gorge that you can hike up and through. There is also a zip line/adventure climbing center that kids as young as 4 can do in the town of Sterzing/Vipiteno called Skytrek Parco Avventura. There is also a tram you can take up to the top of the mountain in Sterzing/Vipiteno. The area is absolutely beautiful - stunning. This is a nice hidden gem in a beautiful part of the world. The primary language in the area is German but everyone also speaks Italian. We will definitely go back!!
