The agriturismo
The Steidacherhof is located in the Ritten , at an elevation of 800 meters above sea level.
The mountain, in South Tyrol, stretches from sun-kissed vineyards to the Corno Del Renon, which rises to 2260 mt. Unique and manifold is the vegetation on the sunny plateau, from larch forests to alpine meadows.
Since 2010, wine (Chardonnay, Kerner, Vernaccia, Lagrein) has been produced by hand, harvesting and crushing the grapes. Harvesting is from mid to late October.
The accommodation
The farm has been run by the 4 generations of the Rottensteiner family since 1924. Since 2022 it has been run by young farmer Daniel. Initially it was a farm for raising cattle; later, in 1997, it was converted to growing apples and cherries. It has always been important to the managers to use the riches of nature to produce with quality and ensure a pleasant taste.
The farm offers accommodation in 3 apartments.
Peters Stub: Here the guest can immerse himself in an oasis of natureleasure. The cladding is made of wood, and the traditional technique has been respected. The cozy and comfortable environment gives the opportunity to deeply relax. Shower, sauna, refrigerator, satellite TV , picnic basket, mountain view.
Hildes Kuchl: This is where Grandma Hilde at Steidacherhof used to cook, pulling the cake out of the oven with its good smell. Now it is the place that brings pleasure to all the senses. That's why it was planned to keep the couch with a view of the old table. Shower, sauna, refrigerator, sat TV, picnic basket.
Sepps Bochsub: You can call it the tower room. The biggest attraction of this apartment is the two-story split, joined by a modern staircase. You can retreat to a corner with a nice view and charm. Shower, sauna, refrigerator, sat TV, picnic basket, mountain view.
Activities and surrounding
The great love given to the cherries, which occupy 2.5 hectares , is why they are so good.
An unforgettable experience is to enjoy a picnic under the flowering cherry trees in mid-April. The harvest is in July.
Delicious jams are also made, of strawberries, cherries, currants, and plums.
From Renon you can have the most beautiful view of the Dolomites. Those who have already been able to experience it know why it is part of the UNESCO world heritage.
