The agriturismo

The Organic Farm Holiday Hiking Centre Casale Camalda is an ancient rural stone mansion on the Appennino Mountains between Florence and Arezzo, into the Foreste Casentinesi, Monte Falterona and Campigna National Park. The farm is situated in a secluted and quiet spot among woods and streams and wolves, red deer, fallow deer, roe deer, wild boars, eagles, squirrels and many other wild animals. Casale Camalda is near the historical Monastery of Camaldoli which can be also reached walking on 3 several comfortable and short paths through the forest.

The accommodation

The hospitality is offered in restored independent flats (Chestnut Drier, Stable and Barn) which were once rural annexes; all of them have kitchen, bathroom and private heating.

A common room with maps, guide books, books about nature and hiking, history and art of the area is available for the guests. Small amusement park for children. The organic farm produces and sells directly fruits, jams and marmalades, honey, wine, olives and oil. English, German and French are spoken. Pets are welcomed.

    "A gem"

    01/02/2016

I was from Carla and Ennio this summer with his wife and three small children: we stayed in Ancient Dryer: a sort of house of the gnomes, whose spaces have been exploited at best with great ingenuity. It 'was a really nice experience: maybe a bit spartan accommodation itself with 3 small children, but we adapted easily: I liked the renovated premises and made habitable with local and traditional materials, the availability and kindness by managers, in which transpires, contagious passion for their choice against and courageous, but also sustainable and forward-looking. And of course the magic of a place at the edge of the forest and with it perfectly integrated, a place where the owners are also able to produce excellent organic products. The prevailing feeling was of being in a wild and vibrant ecosystem, where you just stretch your ears to hear or observe wild animals and see continually, by day, at night and especially at dawn or at dusk: wild boar, deer, foxes .. I also liked the spacious games, the canopy and the paddling pool for children in the woods, the vegetable garden where you can pick fruit and vegetables for their own consumption and above the wood stove, which is also available to guests besides for pleasant surprises! We will be back!

We were in Casale Camalda on several occasions and in different seasons and each time is like the first, can not be that surprised. First of all for the beauty, wild and spiritual at the same time. Walking in the forests along the paths that leave directly from the farm, encountering deer, wild boar and deer is a beautiful experience. The structure is a true house of another era, the apartments are very cozy and clean, furnished with the simplicity of rural tradition but equipped with everything you need for a comfortable holiday. The availability of Ennio Carla and then the icing on the cake. Experts in the Casentino know how to provide information and advice to better both for the percosi hiking as well as for emergencies historical and cultural area is really rich. Impossible not to continue to go back.

    "A place to dream"

    06/07/2011

I spent 5 days in this wonderful dream farm with my children 4 and 5 years and my two dogs. We met with wild boar and deer we had fun and relaxed. A fabulous place surrounded by nature, run by two wonderful people Ennio and Carla, who have the ability to make you feel "at home". For the kids there's a nice wooden house to play in,, slide and swings, a sandbox for months and then more 'warm pool in short, nothing is missing. Before leaving Milan, we have booked another stay for the month of August and we look forward to going back.
