The agriturismo
La Fornella dell'Anita is located in the heart of Chianti Fiorentino, surrounded by 12 hectares of vineyards and olive groves.
The historic villa, built in the typical Vallombrosano style, is 400 meters above sea level and dominates the enchanting San Martino Valley, with its medieval church, the thirteenth-century Castle of Melosa, its vineyards and olive groves.
The accommodation
The Villa, restored in 700 by Benedictine monks, has been recently restored in respect of the original materials (so much so that for the stone restoration was chosen material from the quarries of Firenzuola) and also keeping in mind the needs of comfort and contemporary liveability.
The apartments overlook a common room and are all equipped with air conditioning, large bathrooms and modern deco style sanitary ware. All rooms are furnished with period furniture and decorated or frescoed. They feature large windows with enchanting views of the valley, gardens and swimming pool, kitchens with induction hobs and the latest generation of flat-screen smart TVs with internet access, Netflix and satellite channels.
Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, in the gardens and in the pool area.
It seems to live in Tuscany in the 19th century with the comforts of today!
Guests can also use the restaurant, where Anita exposes her soul with tortelli, handmade pasta, pies, croutons, meat, rolls and peposi, sweets, jams ... Cheese and cold cuts come from local producers in the short chain.
For the wine you can choose between the one produced by the winery itself or a selection of the best and most prestigious wines of the region.
La Fornella also has a large, free, fenced-in car park.
Activities and surrounding
Ideal for a holiday immersed in nature, the villa is located in the heart of the farm.
You can choose to relax by the pool or take trips along the paths that cross the valleys and hills, cross the beech forest of Vallombrosa and reach the Abbey.
Florence is 25 minutes away. The nearest train station is SantEllero, just 5 minutes away, and Pontassieve is 10 minutes away. Both have free parking and quick and frequent connections to Florence S.M.Novella.
For the more fashionable, just 5 minutes away is the great fashion outlet The Mall.
Horse-riding lovers can go for splendid walks in the surrounding woods or among the suggestive redwoods of the park of the castle of Sammezzano. Not far from here is the Consuma Pass, the gateway to the enchanting Casentino and the castle of Nipozzano. In a radius of only 20 km the splendid basilica of San Miniato al Monte, the Case Buonarroti, the market of Sant'Ambrogio.
La Fornella is also ideal for MotoGP enthusiasts and is only 40 km from the Mugello Circuit.

I have been working here for 2 years along with my family.
We take care of: we cook for the guests, we welcome the guests, we take care of the crops.
It was a desire to to pursue a passion which led me to run an agriturismo.
Our guests especially like the food.
