The accommodation

Hospitality is offered in a completely renovated stone farmhouse and in the Borghetto houses located in the grounds of the 30 hectare organic farm, crossed by the Albegna river and the ancient Roman road "Via Clodia".

The houses, in a warm country atmosphere, are equipped with every comfort and cared for furnishings.

 

Outside, gardens, terraces and games for outdoor fun. The property also has twooutdoor swimming pools for its guests, one reserved for guests of the private villa "Il Casale" and one reserved for guests of "Il Borghetto".

Il Casale and Il Borghetto are located in a particularly peaceful area of the countryside, even though they are close to the ancient walls of the town of Saturnia, with the advantage of having all the shops and useful services close at hand: the town can be reached, even on foot, along 600 m of dirt road.

In Saturnia, in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, just a few steps from the Terme di Saturnia spa and golf courses, the Fontenuova farm holiday centre is located in a unique and panoramic position, immersed in a naturalistic context of incomparable beauty, characterised by a hilly landscape where cultivated fields mingle with woods and Mediterranean scrub.

The company is inserted in the Natural Park of the Albegna River, recognized as a site of particular interest by the European Community.

INSIDE THE FARM

It is possible to make excursions along paths in the woods and through the Mediterranean maquis or along the green banks and rocky gorges of the Albegna river, to discover a unique and uncontaminated environment. Along the way, you are likely to encounter pheasant , porcupines , roe deer, wild boar and spot buzzards and herons. On the bank of the river Albegna, moreover, there is a thermal bath with water at 30° where you can take pleasant baths in every season.

 

OUTSIDE THE WALLS

At the foot of the town, in the pools of the Terme diSaturnia and in the natural waterfalls, the famous sulphurous waters flow out at 37°C, allowing pleasant outdoor bathing for 12 months a year. In the surrounding area there are also golf courses and itineraries of all kinds, suitable for hiking or horseback riding.

 

SURROUNDINGS

In the surrounding area, within a radius of 10/30 km, there are a number of archaeological, naturalistic and sports itineraries, through which you can discover the beauty of the area, visiting the medieval villages of Montemerano, Pitigliano, Sorano and Sovana.

A little further away, about an hour's drive, you will find Lake Bolsena and the most significant places of the fascinating Etruscan civilization, such as Vulci, Tuscania and Tarquinia; the WWF Oasis of Lake Burano, Capalbio, the Garden of Tarot Cards and the Park of Uccellina.

At 40 km the Fauna Park, the woods and the ski slopes of Monte Amiata.

And in spring and summer there are also many initiatives that animate the area: events, festivals and food festivals with plenty of local products.

 

SATURNIA AND THE SEA OF ARGENTARIO

In the daytime, you can also take a trip to the sea: Porto Ercole, Porto Santo Stefano, the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago and various beaches for sunbathing, fishing or boating.
