The agriturismo

15 minutes from the sea and 9 km from Grosseto, in the hills overlooking the Maremma Park, an farm run by the Pellegrini family with passion since 1936. Discover the wonderful world of fine wine and oil, as you enjoy guided wine cellar tours and taste all of the farm’s produce, from Morellino di Scansano DOCG "Abos", to "Etrurio" Riserva "Castellaccia", IGT Toscana White and Rosé, Morellino Grappa and extra virgin olive oil.

The swimming pool with scenic views is the ideal place to relax and admire beautiful sunsets.

The accommodation

The accommodation is spread over two farmhouses. The first, a traditional, renovated house, includes the Gli Archi apartment (spacious lounge, kitchen, double bedroom and additional room), and the La Loggia twin room (double bed, fold down sofa, small sink, mini bar and views of the sea and islands. The second, 150 m from the first and surrounded by gardens with views of the sea and Mount Amiata, contains 4 apartments and 2 single rooms with queen size beds (Libeccio and Brezza). Rooms and apartments enjoy independent entrances, bathrooms with showers, verandas and direct access to the agriturismos large gardens filled with flowers and trees, spaces to sit with tables, chairs and sunbeds for the solarium, as well as 3 barbecue areas. There is also undercover parking.

On the sea view side: Grecale and Maestrale each comprise a double bedroom, lounge with sofa and well-equipped kitchenette.

On the hill and vine view side: Tramontana comprises a double bedroom, lounge with sofa and kitchen, and Scirocco offers a double bedroom, lounge with sofa, kitchenette and an additional room.

 

Activities and surrounding

The agriturismo is ideally located for exploring the Maremma, on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback, for rowing on the Ombrone River, relaxing by the sea (Capalbio, Principina a Mare, Castiglione della Pescaia...) or at a spa centre, as well as a enjoying wide range of outdoor activities. You can wander along the region’s Wine Routes and discover wonderful food and wine, or visit important archaeological sites and nature reserves, all within a little over 40 km. The nearby cities of art are a must: visit San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena (80 km), Florence (149 km) and Pisa (160 km), to name just a few. Choose from a wide range of golf clubs too.

We had a wonderful time at Podere Castellaccia farmhouse. The family was super accommodating and helpful. We had a great wine tasting and felt completely comfortable. The car is mandatory to get to the surrounding towns.
