The estate is situated in the hills near Scansano, with  panoramic view over the Maremma and the Tuscan Archipelago. The farm holiday offers accommodation in eleven rooms. Facilities include a restaurant and a swimming pool.

The farmhouse is developed in a characteristic complex of buildings, carefully renovated and offers hospitality in 11 comfortable rooms.

Ginepro Room: Independent room of approx 17 sqm. It consists of a bedroom and a bathroom with a small hallway. It is equipped with a heating system and a wood stove. Portico for exclusive use.

Lavender Room: Independent room of about 50 sqm. It consisting of a large double bedroom where you can add a cot and a bathroom with shower. Outside it has a garden with pergola and table with benches.

Zenzero Room: Large panoramic room with bathroom with shower.

Melissa Room: Panoramic suite with sitting area with sofa bed, large double bedroom and bathroom with shower.

Aloe Room: It is a large double room with private bathroom all just renovated. Located inside the main building with an amazing view of Maremma. Room is equipped with flat screen TV, fridge, espresso machine, hairdryer.

Alloro Room: It is a large double bedroom with private bathroom all just renovated. Located inside the main building with an amazing view of Maremma. The room is equipped with flat screen TV, fridge, espresso machine, hairdryer.

Aneto Room: The Aneto Room is a large double bedroom with private bathroom, all just renovated.Located inside the main building with an amazing view of Maremma. The room is equipped with flat screen TV, fridge, espresso machine, hairdryer.

Anice Room: The Anice Room is a large double room with private bathroom, all just renovated. Located inside the main building with an amazing view of Maremma. The room is equipped with flat screen TV, fridge, espresso machine, hairdryer.

Thyme Room: Large double room of approx. 30 sqm in a contemporary style with rustic elements and all the comforts of a modern room. The room has an entrance French door with a canopy Portico for private use, with private bathroom, air conditioning, flat screen TV, fridge, espresso machine, hairdryer.

Salvia Room: Large double room of approx. 30 sqm in a contemporary style with rustic elements and all the comforts of a modern room. The room has an entrance French door and private bathroom. It is equipped with air conditioning, flat screen TV, fridge, espresso machine, hairdryer.

Rosmarino Room: Large double room of approx. 30 sqm in a contemporary style with rustic elements and all the comforts of a modern room. The room has an entrance French door and private bathroom. It is equipped with air conditioning, flat screen TV, fridge, espresso machine, hairdryer.

At the restaurant inside L'Aione, guests can enjoy excellent dishes of the typical Maremma cuisine with variations of classic Italian dishes. Menu also varies seasonally depending on the availability of goods with which our cook prepares our recipes.

In the preparation of the dishes are mainly used ingredients of own production,  EVO oil, vegetables from the garden, white meats raised on the farm, or purchased in the surrounding area from selected producers and breeders for quality and safety.

All this is naturally accompanied by wines from Cantina Cooperativa Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano, Morellino di Scansano and other red wines, Vermentino, and Rosato.

Breakfast is based on simple products, chosen with care, typical homemade sweets, jams and honey.

During summer it is possible to eat outside in the patio, where you will enjoy a splendid view that sweeps from the hills to the sea.

Use of the swimming pool and whirlpool tub is reserved for guests of the farmhouse, set in a large green area equipped with deck chairs and sun loungers.

New: Discover Maremma on an electric bike.

As from December 2015, the holiday farm, Agriturismo Podere l’Aione, will be hiring out electric bikes (e-bikes) at its farm. Our agriturismo is the ideal place to start touring from: the sea, the Saturnian baths, mediaeval villages and the town of Grosseto are all within easy reach. The roads in this area are perfect for bike-riding and there is no heavy traffic. We can hire you either electric mountain bikes or electric trekking bikes.

The most interesting thing about electric bikes is that you can do long-distance excursions even if you are not really in training. A lot of people don’t ride their bikes in this hilly area just because they haven’t had any practice, but e-bikes eliminate the problem completely, since the effort involved is minimal or even non-existent, thanks to the bike’s special feature: assisted pedalling.

Electric bikes are ideal for all seasons…

Nowhere will ever be too far away and no hill ever too steep precisely because you are comfortably perched on the saddle of an electric bike.

Touring around Maremma on an electric bike, you will travel through enchanted landscapes, breathing clean air with all the scents of the season, sailing over hills with a broad smile on your face.

The farm holiday complex lies in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma. It is 29km from the sea and 27km from the Saturnia thermal baths where the sulphurous waters can be used either publicly or privately. Countless medieval villages in the surrounding areas such as Pitigliano, Magliano (Tuscany) and Capalbio are also just waiting to be discovered.

The province of Grosseto is famous for the quality of its food and wine and boasts as many as nine Doc (Controlled Designation of Origin) wines. One of these is Morellino di Scansano, recently upgraded to Docg (the g means guaranteed) and Podere l'Aione is one of its producers. There are numerous village festivals in the area celebrating such local produce as tortelli (filled pasta), different cheeses, and game.

The Maremma coast, which can be seen from the farm, provides ample bathing facilities. There are free beaches like Alberese in the Maremma natural park, or beaches which provide paid bathing facilities such as Talamone, Ansedonia or Castiglione della Pescaia. The area around the farm offers opportunities for walks or cycle-rides as well as woodland treks on the farm property, where guests can enjoy searching for mushrooms, asparagus, chestnuts and other natural produce at the appropriate time of year.  Still the most important feature, however, is the peacefulness of the place, the tranquillity and the unique location, which make it the perfect place for a totally relaxing holiday.
