The agriturismo
Located in the medieval hamlet of Castagneto Carducci, in a natural setting in which the passing of the seasons is clear to see, surrounded by the colours and scents of the countryside, the agriturismo is a peaceful, relaxing place, not far from popular seaside tourist resorts and historic and artistic attractions.
The accommodation
Built inside the former stables and a large house once owned by the Gherardesca Counts, the guest apartments are surrounded by green space and retain the buildings’ original structure. Stylishly furnished and totally independent, they enjoy undercover parking and each comprise a kitchen with crockery, one large bedroom, one smaller bedroom or mezzanine and a bathroom. 4 apartments are air conditioned and 3 have heating. Each apartment also includes its own private outside space with a table and chairs for dining outdoors.
Guests also have access to the stunning swimming pool surrounded by greenery, a barbecue and a token-operated washing machine. There is also a children’s play area with swings, wigwams and a tree house.
Activities and surrounding
Located near the beautiful Via Bolgherese, the agriturismo is just 5 km from the sea and 6 km from Bolgheri and poet Giuosuè Carducci’s famous “Viale dei Cipressi” road. Guests enjoy easy access to the Etruscan necropolis of Populonia, Venturina with its famous thermal pool and Massa Marittima. A little further away you’ll find Florence, Pisa, Siena, Volterra, Lucca, Montalcino, Montepulciano and San Gimignano, the Uccellina Park in the Tuscan Maremma and, an hour’s boat ride away, the spectacular Elba Island.
