The agriturismo
The holiday farm is in Garfagnana, in the Apuan Alps National Park in the province of Lucca, a typical Tuscan town.
It has got three spikes, the highest qualification in Tuscany.
It is in the midst of the countryside, an ideal place to spend a relaxing holiday, fully immersed in nature.
The accommodation
The holiday farm is the result of a long and complex restoration on an ancient farmstead which has not lived in for more than thirty years. The cottage and the nearby hay barn have been restored using high quality materials and the original design has been retained.
The farm is located in an unpolluted and sunny spot in the midst of the countryside. Here nature is not only to be seen, but to be heard as well; birdsong is everywhere and you can hear the characteristics cry of the buzzards, the bleating of the goats and the murmur of the stream in the valley below.
The farm is made up of two houses completely independent: ?Le Scope? and ?I Torchi?. The marine swimming pool, the laundry room, with washing machine, and the additional equipments are to be shared with all our guests. Houses:
? Le Scope: is the old peasant house, completely restored using high quality materials and furnished with middle twentieth century furniture. It has got three double bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with shower ant the other with Jacuzzi), a kitchen with modern appliances, including a dishwasher, a dining room, a sitting room with, a tv sat, a fireplace and with a small, but representative, museum of the past peasant life with some original artefacts from the state; one more living room can be changed into a double bedroom. The house has got an outdoor living space, with an wood burning oven, a barbecue and a table with chairs.
? I Torchi: is the old hay barn, completely restored preserving the original stones and furnished with middle twentieth century furniture. It has got two double bedrooms and one has got an extra bunk bed, two bathrooms (one with shower, the other has got hydro massage shower and Turkish bath), a large and well-equipped kitchen, with dishwasher, a well-lit living room with a tv sat, fireplace (XII century), containing a small collection of findings from the world war II, witnesses to six long months extending from 1944 to 1945, when Germans and Italians from the Republic of Salò were in bitter confrontation with the Americans under the colour of the 92° Buffalo division posted near to the Gotic Line. The house has got an outdoor living space, a large porch with a long table and barbecue.
