The agriturismo
Villa Alari is housed in an 1851 farmhouse restored in full respect of Tuscan architectural traditions and is situated within a 40-hectare farmhouse 5 km from Cetona.
The large 120-square-meter living room , ideal for parties and events, was once the estate's stable, while upstairs were - and still are - the rooms, as well as and the large fireplace, theancient hearth of the house.
Swimming pool and gazebo are located in the large 5,000-square-meter park at the back of the villa.
The accommodation
The Alari Villa and Rooms are located within theAgriturismo Il Pornelleto, a 40-hectare estate surrounded by a private forest as well as olive groves and vineyards. The farm is located in Cetona, a beautiful Tuscan village, but also close to the border withUmbria and the region's most charming spa areas .
The Villa Alari, with its large living room of 120 square meters, its park, large gazebo and swimming pool is the ideal place to spend a vacation with family, friends, or to organize events and Yoga retreats.
Today the villa has 5 rooms including 2 doubles, 2 triples and a quadruple, all with private bathrooms, for a total capacity of 14 beds.
An additional bathroom and kitchen are located on the ground floor. The kitchen, which was renovated in 2021, is fully equipped with all amenities (oven, 5-burner gas machine, ice machine, frifgo, freezer, Nespresso coffee maker, Aeroccino, microwave, wine cellar, and everything needed to eat and cook comfortably for groups.
Rooms:
- Giuletta & Romeo: renovated in 2022, the room accommodates 2 people (double bed). The bathroom with shower is in the room. The room has a balcony and overlooks the olive grove.
- English: triple room (double bed and single bed) with full bathroom inside the room. Overlooks the courtyard and olive grove.
- Zie: double room with double bed or- upon request- 2 single beds. Private full bathroom in the room and additional private bathroom in front of the room. Overlooks the park.
- Grandfather: double/triple room with double bed or on request 2 single beds; possibility to add a single sofa bed. PRIVATE BATHROOM OUTSIDE the room. Overlooking the hill.
- Patriarch: family room with double bed and 2 single beds. Private bathroom in room, sitting area, balcony. Overlooking the hill.
Nonno and Patriarca rooms can be separated from the rest of the house by a corridor with a door and lock, thus forming a private suite of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for a total of 7 guests.
All rooms have TV, air conditioning, mosquito nets, and are provided with linens, towels, slippers, complimentary toiletries, 1/2 liter of water per guest upon arrival.
A refrigerator available to guests is located in the living room.
The Villa (sleeps 14) can also be rented entirely for groups or events.
In the large gazebo located in the park, guests will find tables, chairs, BBQ, lounges, brazier, ping pong, foosball table , and bow and arrow for children.
Parking, cribs and high chairs are provided free of charge.
The facility is pet friendly and pets stay free of charge. A kennel and food and water bowls are also provided upon request.
NB: Kitchen use is not provided for b&b stays, but there is an agreement service with a restaurant located a few minutes' drive away, with fixed-price or a la carte dinner options.
Activities and surrounding
The area has a strong spa vocation: Bagni San Filippo, San Casciano, Chianciano Terme, Bagno Vignoni, Sant'Albino, are just some of the spas that can be reached with of 30 min. drive.
In addition, dozens of historic villages, such as Cetona, Chiusi, Città della Pieve, Montepulciano, Pienza, Monticchiello, Sarteano, not to mention important Umbrian cities such as Orvieto, are always within a 30 min (or less) drive.
The Val di Chiana is also the ideal destination for those who want to travel the wine roads, with its numerous wineries and tastings, but also ideal for motorcycle trips, (remember the various destinations of theEROICA located in the surrounding area), but also for those looking for taste experiences and local products.
Finally, semre in the surrounding area, there will be no shortage of sports, ranging fromhorseback riding to water sports thanks to the Chiusi Lakes and the beautiful Lake Trasimeno.
