The agriturismo
Fattoria del Colle, in southern Chianti, has at its center a 16th-century villa with an old hamlet converted to accommodate tourists in rooms, apartments and villas, three swimming pools, a restaurant, banquet and conference hall, natural wellness area , cooking school and wineries.
Fattoria del Colle is a wine destination that offers daily tours for tourists by chance and for real enthusiasts.
The accommodation
In southern Chianti, a 16th-century farm with an ancient history and a winery projected into the future.
The buildings form a small hamlet, now converted into vacation homes, around which are olive groves, vineyards and parks.
Fattoria del Colle is an agritourism with restaurant, a place miraculously preserved over time that offers guests weekend or weekly stays. It is located in the production area of Chianti and Doc Orcia. 336 hectares, 17 of which are vineyards and 6 olive groves.
In Italy's most beautiful countryside where views tell a thousand-year history, Fattoria del Colle is still intact, inhabited and open to the public for guided tours. Tourists will discover the charm of ancient noble dwellings that resemble museums where each room tells a story of loves and traditions.
The historic winery is located in the basement of the manor house built in 1592 by the Socini family, the ancestors of Donatella Cinelli Colombini. It includes a medieval hermitage now converted into a Brunello hellhole, the old historic cellar and the cooperage where the Cinderella Doc Orcia and the Dragon and Eight Doves IGT rest. The production cellar contains steel and concrete vats for fermentation, and outside the recent expansion and restoration has surrounded it with a corten wood. Inside is a new room dedicated to vineyard experiences.
Activities and surrounding
The Hill Farm has 3 nature trails (1.5-2.1 km) equipped with direction signs and explanations about animals and plants. One route is dedicated to vineyards and teaches understanding of grape varieties and cultivation. And finally, a photo trail points out the most suggestive vantage points to be immortalized.
Staying at Fattoria del Colle allows you to visit the surroundings, discover places that are still little known and enjoy a unique landscape. Among the best-known destinations are within a 30-kilometer radius, the villages of Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino and San Quirico; treasures to be discovered include The Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, The Park of the Mills at Bagno Vignoni and the beautiful Crete Senesi Road
