From the swimming pool you can discover a suggestive view of the surrounding Tuscan landscape characterized by chasing cypresses, vineyards, olive trees and by the rolling hills with Siena in the distance ....
The accommodation
Located in the Sienese Chianti Classico countryside - but not far from Siena (only 8 km), San Gimignano (50 km), Florence (70 km), Arezzo (80 km), the Villa is an historical residence, built in the second half of the 17th century, renovated contemplating the shapes of the ancient architecture; it overlooks the Italian Garden and an allegory of statues depicting the Four Seasons.
Precious fireplaces, halls with wooden parquet, frescoed walls, prestigious prints and antique furniture enhance the charm of the structure. Composed of four spacious apartments accommodating 4 people each and a bigger one for 6 people, two accommodations for 2 people and one for 3/4 people. While what was once a place of production of fine wine and olive oil, the farm now appears expertly restored in respect of its original layout; it consists of 5 three-roomed apartments Type C for 4 people, 2 studios, 6 two-roomed apartments type B for 2 people and 6 beautiful cottages - four for 4 people and two for 2 people each with garden and private table.
A swimming pool in the Chianti hills, with the city of Siena in the background and a poetic stroll through the cypresses. The characteristic vegetation, the stone wall and the Italian garden also to frame a lovely afternoon spent in the open air by the swimming pool, which is 15 meters long, 7.5 meters wide, 1.5 meters deep, make it, from May to October, a relaxing oasis to relax. The Villa, an ancient residence with the adjacent Fattoria, a receptive reality which, in the spirit of a typical local hospitality, will make your holiday or an event truly ... unforgettable!
Activities and surrounding
Villa di Catignano is a perfect venue also for gala dinners, receptions, banquets, meetings, seminaries, conferences, or art exhibitions. The Villa has availability for several halls: the Tinaia Hall, completely restored with cap vaults and terracotta floors. It can holds up to 120 people for a sit down dinner, and 150 people for meetings.
The Grey Hall holds up to 80 people sit down dinner, and 120 people for cocktails. Also available - on request - the living rooms of the Villa, characterised by splendid frescoes, can be used for the same purposes. From the halls it is possible to reach a large terrace, the beautiful courtyard of the Villa and Fattoria; there, guests can also enjoy the wide external area, which includes the beautiful, charming Giardino all'Italiana, open during winter time as well. For wedding dinners and parties, we will also be happy to suggest possible food catering solutions to anyone interested.
In the ancient, private chapel inside the property, Anglican or Protestant faith ceremonies can be hold, while symbolic ceremonies or blessings may be held within the evocative framing of the statues of the Four Seasons, which have always been used as decorations for Italian gardens.
