Nestled in the quiet green Umbrian countryside, between olive trees and vineyards, the farmhouse Arcobaleno della Torretta is the ideal place to spend your vacation relaxing and in direct contact with an untouched nature. The particular position allows the guests to appreciate the surrounding environment and the quiet of the area despite it’s situated round the corner of the residential complex of Macciano. The farmhouse extends for a surface of 14 hectares, and there grow usually lawns, cereals and olives.
The farmhouse is situated in panoramic position at 450 mt s.l. and it’s formed by a building dating back to the first periods of 1900: once the ground floor was used as animals shelter and business products, while the first floor was a modest apartment.
The recent renovation has allowed the realization of 7 independent apartments for a total of 25 accomodations, with autonomous heating. Each apartment is furnished by lounge-kitchen and it gives onto a wide common garden. The works have been realized with great care of details, harmonizing the materials to the existing features and valorizing characteristic elements of the rural residences.
The surrounding area of building is available to guests, the garden is enlarged with different arboreal varieties, secular olive trees dominate the scene, the lawn is tooled with chairs and sun areas and a small barbecue. It is in expectation the realization of a swimming pool. The structure is equipped with vast parking lot and areas of open spaces in observance of laws in force. Thanks to the characteristics of the Umbrian country, the farmhouse satisfy the requirements of tourists in all seasons; the farm holidays is opened all year round.
The small city of Giano dell’ Umbria is situated at the foot of the Monte Martani. Its position is central, compared to the cities of Spoleto, Montefalco, Assisi Orvieto and Todi. Typical medieval center, it has a walls in which can be seen roman and medieval ruins. At the centre of the country, next to Town Hall, there are the churches of Santa Maria (XII century) and San Michele with fourteenth century exterior and interior. At the entry of the country there is the church of San Francesco (XIV century), in which have been unearth important frescos attributed to Giovanni of Corraduccio, Foligno’s painter of the XIV-XV century. One can see in the surroundings, the abbey of San Felice, interesting romanesque building with three aisles, a raised presbytery and a crypt with the sarcophagus of the Saint. It offers a splendid hilly landscape too with paths to cross with bicycle or with horse. The farmhouse’s hospitality renders the stay really pleasant. The farmhouse proposes itself as your logistic base for religious (Assisi, Orvieto, Norcia, Cascia), gourmet (Cantine Aperte, le Strade del Vino, le Strade del Sagrantino), naturalistic (the Waterfalls of Marmore), historical and folklorist (Calendimaggio in Assisi, Todi Festival, Giostra della Quintana di Foligno, Festival dei due Mondi di Spoleto) itineraries.
