The agriturismo

Le Mandrie di San Paolo is situated on the hill of Assisi, visible from the windows of the lodgings, in a panoramic position.

The farmhouse overlooks a sea of olive trees and has behind it hundreds of hectares of Mediterranean scrub in the Mount Subasio Natural Park.

Dating back to 1200 and renovated and furnished with the utmost care, it is located within a natural oasis (free-roaming animals such as deer, squirrels, foxes, goats, donkeys).

The property offers the opportunity to host conferences and ceremonies and to purchase organic honey, homemade jams and typical local products(meats, cheeses, eggs from free-range chickens), as well as the real gold of the area and the farm, extra virgin oliveoil.

Inside the farmhouse, it is possible to stay in spacious apartments ideal for families of 50sqm (for 4/5persons), large double rooms or "honeymoon" suites for two people (room and living room).

The apartments consist of double bedroom, ante-bathroom, large bathroom, spacious living area with kitchenette equipped with stove, oven, refrigerator, dishes.

The units have been renovated in full respect of Umbrian-Tuscan traditions with old terracotta tiles, chestnut beams, wrought iron. Particular care has been given to the furnishings: all the furniture is solid chestnut wood and in some of them there are original antiques. The units have 22-inch LCD TVs with satellite and terrestrial channels, heating, telephone and Internet.

Lunches or dinners enjoyed in the dining room are prepared with organic ingredients (Le Mandrie Farm was among the first to join organic farming programs). The farm has several hectares of olive groves and produces a niche oil that is highly regarded in Italy. The farm has acres of black truffle scrubland and both large animals (goats, horses, free-roaming deer) and farmyard animals. The hills owned by the farm are ideal for trekking, hiking and mountain biking.

Memorable will be summer barbecues or dinners in front of the fireplace in winter.

The farmhouse is a privileged point of access, both by car and on foot, to Assisi, and other wonderful villages such as Spello, Bevagna, Montefalco, Gubbio.

Other possibilities offered by the property include seeing the farm's animals up close, renting mountain bikes, and hiking on the paths of the Subasio Park to discover nature and evocative places such as the abbey of San Benedetto or as Fonte Bregno or the small church of Madonna della Spella.

Numerous popular festivals in summer enliven all the suburbs of the Umbrian territory with music, food and wine products, tastings and typical local delicacies. In winter, evenings with live music are organized at the facility. Umbria also offers many cultural, musical and historical events at different times of the year and easily accessible from Assisi, which is centrally located for Umbria and close to the Tuscan centers of Siena, Arezzo, and Cortona.
