Agriturismo Podere Luchiano

Podere Agrituristico Luchiano is set in the heart of a beautiful area of Southern Umbria, unknown to most tourists, which extends between the rivers Tiber and Nera. Crossed by old Roman roads, this fascinating and authentic place, named Comprensorio Amerino, is very rich in nature, culture and traditions. First of all Amelia, the most ancient mediaeval town of Umbrian peoples, is worth visiting for its limestone polygonal walls (3^rd cent. BC) as well as for its different churches, the marvellous historic palaces and the Roman Cistern.

The estate is located between Amelia (5 km) and Lugnano in Teverina (5 km) and lies on a small hill at 450 m above sea level and offers a stunning panoramic view over the hills and the valleys all around.

Surrounded by the large garden and the olive grove of around 2,000 trees, the typical Umbrian estate of the 17^th century still preserves its unique original threshing floor built with hand-made bricks, used by local farmers for threshing grain by hand till some decades ago.

The Podere Agrituristico Luchiano is a typical Umbrian farmhouse (600 sq.m), dating back to the 17^th century, recently restored and converted into a comfortable country house, smartly decorated with period furniture (Naples, 19^th century and Art Nouveau styles).

The structure still shows the characteristic outer walls built with exposed natural stones and the central steps to the loggetta, a small open balcony, which leads to the apartment named Foresteria. Particular attention has been paid for the interior restoration, preserving the typical ceilings built with wooden beams and tiles, as well as vaults and recesses.

The three independent apartments available for rent, Foresteria, Luna and Elio, are of different sizes and can comfortably accommodate from two up to five people. On the outside, in the private garden, you find tables and chairs for your meals.

Also available for you outdoors: wood oven, barbecue area with tables and chairs, barbecue place sheltered from rain, mountain bikes e covered car parking.

Foresteria: this spacious and very beautiful apartment of 140 sq.m is on the first floor, only a few steps from the garden, and accommodates 4+1 people. It has two double bedrooms (one with a king size bed and a cot, the other with twin beds), two bathrooms (one with bath), washing room with washing machine, large kitchen with dishwasher, oven,  four gas burners, microwave oven, fridge with big freezer. The large living- and dining room has fireplace, color TV and a sofa bed for two more people. From the outdoor open balcony you can enjoy the view on the garden and the surrounding hills.

Luna: this apartment of 85 sq.m is on the ground floor, in front of the garden, and accommodates 4+1 people. It has two double bedrooms (one with double bed, the other with twin beds),  two bathrooms,  living/dining room with color TV, sofa bed for one more person and American kitchen with dishwasher, oven,  four gas burners, fridge with big freezer, washing machine.

Elio: the apartment of 55 sq.m is on the ground floor, in front of the garden, and accommodates 2+1 people. It has a double bedroom with a king size bed, one bathroom, living/dining room with color TV and sofa bed for one more person, American kitchen with oven, four gas burners, fridge with big freezer, washing machine.

The private swimming pool (6x12 m) is situated in a quiet position and offers a beautiful panoramic view of the nearby hills and valleys, ideal for sun-bathing and relaxing. There are sun-beds, deck-chairs, umbrellas, tables and chairs. The pool is compliant with the regional safety laws.

Originally Podere Luchiano was a monastery, whose church was later used as a stable by the local farmers. Restored around ten years ago, the old stable has been converted into a spacious living room of 140 sq.m, which still shows the four 17^th cent. arches, originating in the common central column. The room has a nice fireplace, kitchen, and bathroom as well as tables and chairs, sofas, colour TV, DVD reader, stereo, radio, table games, books and is the available for guests as a common living- and dining-room. It is also used for lectures and seminars as well as for dinners, weddings and private parties.
