The agriturismo

The Monte Sereo agritourism is located 25 km from Padua on the hill from which it takes its name, in the northern part of the Euganean Hills Regional Park, on a farm specializing in olive-growing and entirely surrounded by woods, bordering the "Euganean Hills cycle route"-

It enjoys a unique panorama, open over the Veneto plain, from the Berici Hills to the Venice lagoon and Friuli.

The distance from inhabited centers, the lack of sources of noise and pollution allow a vacation full of satisfaction and full of rest.

The accommodation

The farmhouse offers hospitality for up to eight people in four rooms, with two types of solutions: single rooms, with breakfast, for a minimum stay of two nights; entire facility, with use of the fully equipped kitchen, for a minimum stay of one week.

The house is an oldrural dwellingfrom the late 18th century, once the farmhouse of the nearby Villa Barbarigo - Montesi (17th century). It preserves intact the warmth of local building materials: the stone floors of the ground floor, the walls made of red flake, the typical building stone of this area of the Euganean Hills, the wood for beams and ceilings, and the roof with tiles. Particular attention is paid to the interior, the choice of furniture and colors. Heating is given by a low-energy system, combined with solar panels for hot water production and photovoltaic for electricity production.

On the ground floor there is a furnished porch, entrance hall, dining room with fireplace, kitchen with a pergola outside, two double rooms, each with its own private bathroom. On the second floor is the large living room in the old barn, and two double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.

Activities and surrounding

Spending a farm vacation is synonymous with relaxation, leisure and nature.

Monte Sereo is, first of all a farm, where we take care of theolive grove, registered with the DOP Veneto - Euganean and Berici, and where we harvest the olives to produce our renowned oil. The farm also hosts an orchard, a small vegetable garden, areas of meadow and forest. So we are waiting for you to visit the farm, taste our oil that you can buy directly.

To be able to discover the Euganean Hills and its surroundings by bicycle, we can offer routes suitable for every level; at guests' disposal there are bicycle touring bicycles to ride the Euganean Hills Cycling Ring that, for a stretch, borders Monte Sereo. On the Euganean Hills, on the nearby Berici Hills and in the surrounding plain, there are numerous riding stables and itineraries for relaxing horseback rides or walks that can be done in any season.

For golf lovers, Monte Sereo is ideal for convenient access to the Golf Club of Frassanelle or the Golf Club of Montecchia or the Golf Club Padova in Valsanzibio.

Monte Sereo is 10 km from the thermal baths of Abano and Montegrotto, ideal destinations for a day of wellness and relaxation.

Forfood and wine lovers, the Euganean Hills are the ideal area to discover unique tastes and flavors and typical local products.

Monte Sereo's location also makes it easy to reach the most popular places in the Veneto region: the cities of Padua (km 20), Vicenza (km 25), Venice (km 70), Verona (km 76), and Treviso (km 82).

The whole area is rich in history, with the first settlements of the Veneti whose evidence can be seen in Este at the Museo Nazionale Atestino and in Padua at the Museo Civico agli Eremitani.

Worth visiting are the medieval fortified towns of Monselice, Este and Montagnana, the village of Arquà Petrarca, which hosted the poet in the last years of his life, the Camaldolese monastery on Mount Rua, and theBenedictine abbey of Praglia.

Beginning in the 16th century, the Euganean Hills and the surrounding Venetian plain became a vacation spot for patrician families, who fixed their summer residence here, erecting numerous villas such as the Barbarigo villa with its garden, in Valsanzibio, the Villa dei Vescovi in Torreglia, the Cataio Castle in Battaglia Terme.

Nearby are some ancient quarries with the remains of the furnaces that transformed the limestone rock of these hills into valuable building material, praised even by Andrea Palladio (visit the nearby furnace museum at Cava Bomba in Cinto Euganeo).

The products of the Euganean Hills reached Vicenza, Padua, and Venice through a dense network of canals and navigable rivers, active from very remote times until the middle of the last century, and whose thousand-year history can be followed in the Bacchiglione River Museum in St. Martin's Castle and at the River Navigation Museum in Battaglia Terme.
