via Lio Maggiore, 21, 30016 Iesolo (Venice)
The recently renovated farmhouse is located at the mid-point of the lagoon north of Venice in an area without public roads and free of any trace of modern building development. A magical, unique and relaxing setting near Jesolo beach.
The farmhouse, which features the typical architecture of the Venetian lagoon, offers 6 guest rooms and 3 single rooms that can be configured as apartments when combined with one or two guest rooms. The accommodation offers all modern conveniences and is furnished with tasteful simplicity.
Guests can enjoy traditional Veneto recipes in a restaurant specialising in fish dishes and meats, all prepared using produce from the farm and locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.
Guests seeking a relaxing holiday can take advantage of the wellness room, where they are pampered with massages performed using natural products.
The beautiful lagoon countryside can be experienced in full by taking a canoe trip to reach shallow pools and waterways linking the main canals to a series of lakes, offering a close-up view of mallards and greater flamingos.
The establishment offers boats for hire that provide access to the islands of Burano, Torcello and San Francesco del Deserto. Access to the agriturismo is via an 8 km stretch of unsurfaced road – also by bicycle – through the nature park.
In the surrounding area guests can travel to Jesolo and Caorle, and the historic cities of Treviso at 50 km, Padua at 80 km, Verona at 150 km and the Dolomite mountains at 100 km.

From 30.10. to 4.11.2018 we were guests at the Agriturismo La Barena in the lagoon of Venice: two adults with two children aged 14 and 11 years. This was a very nice stay despite the wet start through the remains of the devastating 2018 autumn storm. We had rented a "studio", a large room with a very high ceiling, a small kitchenette, a little too few cupboards and a very nice view over the lagoon from the panorama window. La Barena is atmospherically wonderful and very quietly situated on one of these small strips of land that rise into the lagoon, thus directly at the water, with jetties, and one can also, without having a boat driving licence, rent a boat and sail along the signposts through the lagoon to Burano.
From La Barena the town of Jesolo can be easily reached by car, but the small road is a little too long for a walk. A little further is the long beach of Jesolo, which is unusually deserted during our visiting hours, in summer there is one beach chair after the other. Venice, Burano or Torcello can also be easily reached by liner boat from Punta Sabbioni.
What we really enjoyed was eating La Barena. In the evening they have pasta variations, duck, fish, very good desserts - all very tasty. Also remarkable was the breakfast with its Italian cheese variations and the salamis in high quality, but above all with its extensive cake buffet from the oven of the daughter of the house. During our visit there were also kaki fruits fresh from the tree every morning - these are the things that look like a tomato, but taste infinitely sweet and soft, a pleasure.
The children were very happy about the many animals that live on La Barena, the dog Olliver, the chickens, ducks, the goat with goat, geese and two horses.
Altogether La Barena is a dreamlike beautiful place with very friendly people, which we will gladly visit again.

We loved our stay at La Barena. It was our first stop on a month long tour of the Northern Adriatic and it couldn't have been a better way to begin. The accomodations were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a feast of local produce, meats, cheeses, pastries and much more. The food served in the restruant was very delicious, of excellent quality, and an amazing value. While there, we rented bikes, and even the hotel's boat for excursions in the peaceful lagoon. It was a marvelous stay,.
