Località Santa Lucia, 09010 Tratalias (South Sardinia)
Nestled in the countryside in south-western Sardinia, within the Sardinian geomining park and a short distance from Carbonia, amidst eucalyptus trees and Mediterranean shrubland, the agriturismo offers the opportunity to sample nature’s produce in simple menus, a world away from industrial cooking.
3,000 m² of green lawns, a barbecue and a gazebo for outdoor dining are available for guests.
Waiters serve the tables wearing traditional Sardinian clothes.
The agriturismo offers air-conditioned rooms with bathroom built using green building techniques and materials with AIAB certification.
The accommodation also includes the riding stables with 15 boxes for selected Anglo-Arab horses. Some rooms have a panoramic view.
The 30-hectare farm and the breeding of sheep, goats and pigs ensure fresh supplies for the restaurant, which seats up to 90 people and consumes almost exclusively home-grown produce (80%). The menus always include ravioli and roast suckling pig, in addition to several starters, first and second courses.
The farm is surrounded by vine plots which produce the grapes for the wines offered for sale along with tomatoes, citrus fruits, artichokes and vegetables.
The agriturismo is between 6 and 15 km from the sea in Porto Pino, the Gulf of Palmas where you can see pink flamingos, Santadi, home to the Is Zuddas caves, and Carbonia and the Island of Sant’Antioco. Cagliari is 65 km away.
In addition to the working or abandoned mines in the geomining park, archaeology lovers can visit the Phoenician-Punic site of Mount Sirai, the necropolises and catacombs of S. Antioco and the sites in Santadi.
The natural context in which the agriturismo stands allows hikers to choose between coastal or mountain trails, to admire the local fauna.
The agriturismo also has a special deal with the Luna Beach Porto Pino beach establishment, allowing guests to have a discount of 40% off parasols and sun loungers. Sailing courses and dinghy trips are also organised.
