Theold renovatedbuilding offers all the comforts to ensure a peaceful holiday in the freshness of nature: it is located on a hill 650m above sea level and is surrounded by hazelnut, oak and chestnut trees.
This area of Nebrodi is rich in history and landscapes not far from both the sea and the mountains and can satisfy the tastes of anyone allowing you to organize your days by choosing the most appropriate destinations.
The area was populated by Latins, Byzantine Greeks, Arabs and Normans: in particular, the Byzantine influence can still be felt today both in the dialect and in the architecture. Traces are evident in the cuisine , which offers an assortment of dishes with spicy and genuine flavours.
Single, double, triple and quadruple rooms are available to guests. All rooms have been renovated preserving the original materials and prospects and all are heated and air conditioned. Each room has a toilet with shower, hairdryer and linen.
There are facilities for the disabled.
It is possible to use the restaurant service (half board or full board) with a fixed menu at 25 euros including drinks.
The menu consists of regional specialties. The kitchen uses farm products such as asparagus, wild vegetables, vegetables, hazelnuts, chestnuts, mushrooms and black pig Nebrodi.
At the farmhouse, you can plan your stay by consulting the range of proposals illustrated by the farmhouse staff; these include: guided tours of the surrounding areas, trekking and mountain bike excursions. It is also illustrated an itinerary to go along the historical "trazzere" and to participate to festivals and events of tasting of typical local products organized in the neighbouring countries.
It is also possible to take part in horticulturalcourses andcourses on aromatic and officinal herbs.
During the months of September and October it is possible to assist and take part in the harvesting of hazelnuts from the trees that surround the structure and then see their transformation and their use in cooking. During the months of November and December, instead, it is possible to assist to the activities of the oil mill: that is to say the process of pressing olives to obtain genuine and excellent quality oil.
In every period of the year, with the collaboration of the riding school located not far from the farmhouse, horseback riding excursions are organized. In the area, moreover, various cultural activities such as book presentations, debates and conferences are programmed to offer both inhabitants and tourists always present, different possibilities of entertainment.
The sea is only 20 minutes away and on the opposite side the Nebrodi peaks; Taormina, Cefalù, Etna and the Aeolian Islands are just over an hour away.
To visit the suggestive Abbey of San Filippo di Fragalà built in the XI century and the inhabited centre of Ucria, a village rich in history, treasures and breathtaking views.
The town of Ucria alone has 5 museums: the Pedagogical Museum of Art and Youth Creativity, the Museum of Folk Art , the Mosaic "Two Worlds Compared" by Nico Nicosia, the Ethnological Museum of Papier-mâché Masks and the Ethno-historical Museum of the Nebrodi. There are also numerous churches.
