The agriturismo
Poggio al Sole is immersed in the splendid scenery of the Florentine hills that surround Florence and overlooks the gentle slope that overlooks the Mugnone valley. It is located half a hill, at a height of about 450 meters above sea level, 6 km from Fiesole in Torre di Buiano and just 8 km from Florence. The old farmhouse and the barn wisely restored within an organic farm in Fiesole, on one of the hills overlooking Florence. Particular care we reserve for the saffron cultivation, of which we have been promoted. The stigmas, manually removed from the flower one by one at the time of harvesting are made to dry slowly and then packaged. The resulting product is completely natural and free from any extraneous additions or manipulations.

Poggio al Sole is immersed in the splendid scenery of the Florentine hills that surround Florence and overlooks the gentle slope that overlooks the Mugnone valley. It is located half a hill, at a height of about 450 meters above sea level, 6 km from Fiesole in Torre di Buiano and just 8 km from Florence. A panoramic spot where olive trees, cypresses and fruit trees surround this ancient farmhouse complex whose name recalls the sunny position it enjoys from sunrise to sunset, in the summer as an old farmhouse and barn wisely restored to the of an organic farm in Fiesole, on one of the hills overlooking Florence. Family-run organic farm and agritourism. Poggio al Sole offers accommodation with breakfast included. The reception reserved for guests is cordial and friendly. Peace and attention to the guest are assured. We have left unchanged the original peasant character of the two constructions that make up the company: the farmhouse and the stone barn, fortunately now unaltered in style. In the barn, there are three large double bedrooms (with the possibility of two single beds), which have been given names of flowers: Ginestra, Iris and Gelsomino, all equipped with private bathroom, heating and renovated in the purest Tuscan style: beams view, terracotta floors, use of solid wood for French windows and furniture. The old loggia now serves as an entrance to the rooms, a common room and has its own panoramic balcony overlooking the valley and the farm, planted with vines, olive trees and fruit trees. On the front of the barn there is a huge barn shaded by an old oak tree, which the local peasants called "chioppone". The garden is flanked by a panoramic swimming pool (3X7) with a solarium overlooking the olive groves of the farm. On the first floor of the farmhouse, there are two other large rooms, one of which is triple and another double, always equipped with private bathroom and heating: Alba and Tramonto, from which you can enjoy the panorama of the valley. Both the Alba and Tramonto rooms are equipped with air conditioning that can be used, optionally, for a small fee. On the ground floor there is a kitchen, a dining room with a fireplace. On the same floor a sales point with the excellent products of Poggio al Sole: extra virgin olive oil, the saffron of Florence in stigmas, honey and the specialty of saffron honey. The structure has a private and illuminated parking. The farm is totally organic. Main products are extra virgin olive oil, saffron with processed products and honey. With the fruits available in the farm (cherries, apricots, figs, pears, plums, walnuts, sorbets) are prepared jams and liqueurs of herbs. For organizational reasons it is not possible to specifically book one of the five rooms of Poggio al Sole: the same for architectural, amplitude and display conditions are similar. There are eleven beds available in max five rooms, including four doubles and one triple.
