The agriturismo
The Agriturismo La Fontanella and the brand new Restaurant La Foresteria, located 2 km from the historic center of Suvereto, a pretty medieval village surrounded by walls, a few steps from the Etruscan city of Populonia, the Gulf of Baratti and the beautiful East Coast.
Since 2002 Suvereto has been a member of the association "I Borghi più belli d'Italia" (The most beautiful villages in Italy) as well as having obtained other awards such as: Orange Flag, Oil City, Wine City, Slow City.
The estate, surrounded by Mediterranean scrub, covers 65 hectares divided between olive grove, vineyard, pasture and forest in a healthy and unspoiled environment, where you practice the farm and many other activities.
The accommodation
The large farm La Fontanella, saved from the degradation into which it had fallen due to the abandonment of the land by the farmers, has come back to life in its glory thanks to the commitment and perseverance of the family Ciardella for over 20 years.
The Agriturismo La Fontanella is the ideal location to organize a wedding in country chic style ... vineyards, olive groves and hay fields will give life to a unique and evocative scenery!
A welcome aperitif can be set up around the new Natural Style pool with original seating such as straw presses surrounded by wild flowers, lanterns and aromatic plants.
If you prefer a rich buffet with local products, you can use the classic swimming pool and its solarium.
For lunch/dinner the bride and groom can opt for the large central gazebo or immerse themselves in nature and place the tables directly between the centuries-old olive trees of the Fountain; soft and colorful lights will illuminate the evening.
From this year we also have the Restaurant La Foresteria, where we offer simple dishes of the Tuscan tradition, cooked by the expert hands of our cook Chiara.
The products at Km 0 are found in part by the farm itself (meat of the fine Cinta Senese, oil, wine, vegetables) and in part by companies in the area.
The cultivation of the vineyard, which began in 2004, currently covers nine hectares.
The climate and the soil of our area favour the ripening of the grapes, enriching them with substances and perfumes that are excellent for the production of a wine of great structure.
Our vines, such as Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, are cultivated in the traditional "Guyot" and "cordone speronato" forms with a low load of buds per hectare.
